The Battle
I wrote this poem for my Main page, but ended up submiting to online poetry contests. It's one of my favs, and one of my shortest!
A dragon and knight stood poised in battle,
"I'll tear you apart!" cried the knight.
The dragon took on an injured look
And said, "Please, sir, I don't want to fight."
"Nonesense!" said the knight, "You are nought but a monster,
I must kill you to be brave!"
"Then who is the monster?" The dragon asked dryly
"The beast or the bullying knave?"
(I would really appreciate it if someone could E-mail me and let me know the correct way to do quotes in a poem... :) )
