1 pint cool whip

2 reg. size hershey bars with almonds

1 graham cracker pie crust 9in.

melt hershey bars

mix with cool whip pour in pie crust chill overnight.

don't bother to count the calories cause you can't count that high

APPLE CRUMB PIE

5-7 TART APPLES [ 5 CUPS ]

1-9" UNBAKED PASTRY SHELL

1/2 CUP SUGAR

3/4 tsp GROUND CINNAMON

1/3 CUP OF SUGAR [ FORTHE TOPPING]

3/4 CUP ALL-PURPOSE FLOUR

6 TABLESPOONS OF BUTTER

PARE APPES: CORE AND CUT IN EIGHTS.

ARRANGE IN UNBAKED PASTRY SHELL.

MIX 1/2 CUP OF SUGAR AND CINNAMON: SPRINKLE OVER APPLES.

MIX 1/3 CUP OF SUGAR WTH THE FLOUR: CUT IN BUTTER TILL CRUMBLY.

SPRINKLE OVER APPLES. BAKE AT 400* FOR 35-40 MIN.

OR TILL DONE. IF PIE BROWNS TO QUICKLY, COVER EDGES WITH FOIL.

LET COOL AND THEN ENJOY!

pumpkin Pie Cake

1 box yellow cake mix (retain 1 cup for topping)

    1 stick melted butter

2 beaten eggs Blend together with mixer.

Spread in greased and floured 13" by 9" by 2" pan.

FILLING:

1 large (1lb13oz) can pie pumpkin

3 large eggs

1/2 cup brown sugar

1/4 cup white sugar

2/3 cup evaporated milk

1 1/2 teaspoon pumpkin pie spice.

Beat well. Pour over batter in pan.

  TOPPING:

1/2 cup sugar

1/2 stick cold butter

1/2 cup chopped walnuts

1 cup reserved cake mix Combine until crumbly.

Sprinkle over top.

Bake at 350 for 50 to 55 minutes.

Test for doneness with knife as with pumpkin pie.

Serve with KoolWhip.

Beer Bread

3 c. self-rising flour

1-12oz. can of beer

3 TBLS. sugar

1/2 tsp. salt

Mix these ingredients by hand for 3 min.

Dough will be sticky!

Make into loaf shape and place in greased bread pan.

Bake at 350 degrees for 30 min.,

then remove from oven and butter the top of the loaf.

Return to oven for additional 10 min.

*HINT:

A wet spatula will make spreading of batter easier.

Personal note:

This was a big favorite when the kids were growing up.

They all liked it warm from the oven with their favorite spread of jam, butter,or honey.

This bread is best served warm with a good cup of coffee.

scotch shortbread

1/4 teaspoon baking powder

1 cup of butter

1/2 cup of confectioners sugar

2 cups of sifted flour

1/4 teaspoon of salt

In a cup combine sugar and butter.

In a bowl combine flour, baking powder and salt.

Blend in butter mix and place on a floured board.

Roll out to a 1/4 inch thickness.

With a sharp knife cut dough into 3 inch circles and place circles 2 inches apart on greased cookie sheets.

prick holes in cookies with a toothpick and bake at 375º for 15 to 20 minutes until brown.

Makes about 3 maybe four dozen cookies

RED DOGG

Apple Strudel ( Za'vin Taz'eny')

2 cups flour

1/2 cup warm water

1 T melted butter

1 egg

1/2 t salt

Filling:

1/2 cup dry bread crumbs, fried in 3 T of butter until brown

1/4 cup melted butter 4 large apples, sliced

1/4 cup raisins

1 cup sugar mixed with 1/2 t cinnamon

1/2 cup chopped walnuts or almonds

Mix water, egg and melted butter, add salt.

On a floured board work all the liquid mixture into the flour,

kneading until the dough is very elastic and no longer sticks to the board.

Cover with a warm bowl and let stand one hour.

Meanwhile prepare the filling.

Spread a cloth over a large table and sprinkle it lightly with flour.

Rll dough evenly into a large square and

lace it in the center of the cloth.

Begin pulling and stretching the dough away from the center, gently,

to prevent tearing until it is evenly thin as paper.

Snip off the thick edges,

brush dough with melted butter and sprinkle the fried crumbs over three quarters of the surface.

Spread apples, raisins and nuts on the crumbs.

Sprinkle sugar and cinnamon mixtue over it.

Lifting and tilting the cloth start rolling the dough from the filled side

( like a huge jelly roll )

toward and over the empty side.

Place carefully on a greased baking sheet,

brush top with butter and bake at 400 degrees for 30 minutes.

Reduce heat to 350 derees.

and bake another 30 minutes.

Baste with melted butter.

OK...here is a recipe for molasses cookies that was handed down to me from my mother. Daddy absolutely LOVES these cookies.

Molasses Cookies

1/2 cup shortening

1/2 cup sugar

1 egg

1 cup dark molasses

1 tspn lemon juice

1 tspn cinammon

3/4 tspn cloves

1/2 tspn ginger

2 tspns baking soda

1/2 tspn salt

1/3 cup boiling water

3 1/2 cups sifted flour

Cream shortening and sugar together.

Beat in egg.

Add molasses and lemon juice and blend well.

Mix and sift dry ingredients.

Add to creamed mixture.

Add boiling water and mix well.

Blend thoroughly.

Drop by teaspoons~ful on GREASED cookie sheet.

Sprinkle with granulated sugar, if desired.

Bake at 350 degrees for 8-10 minutes.

Makes 4 dozen

Neiman-Marcus Cookie:

(Recipe may be halved):

2 cups butter

4 cups flour

2 tsp.. Soda

2 cups sugar

5 cups blended oatmeal

24 oz. chocolate chips

2 cups brown sugar

1 tsp. salt

1 8 oz. Hershey Bar (grated)

4 eggs

2 tsp. baking powder

2 tsp. Vanilla

3 cups chopped nuts (your choice).

  Measure oatmeal and blend in a blender to a fine powder.

Cream the butter and both sugars.

 Add eggs and vanilla; mix together with flour, oatmeal, salt, baking powder, and soda.

Add chocolate chips, Hershey Bar and nuts.

 Roll into balls and place two inches apart on a cookie sheet.

Bake for 10 minutes at 375 degrees (190 degrees C).

Makes 112 cookies.
