Extra Options
During the attract mode where
the story is scrolling, press the following sequence on the
Nintendo 64 pad:
Up, Right, Left, Down, B, A
The directions refer to the
set of C buttons next to the B and A buttons.
If done so correctly, you'll
hear Shao Kahn, and a new blue question mark will appear in the option
screen.
Select Your Battle Arena
On the Player Select Screen
highlight Sonya. Hold Up on either the control stick or pad and
press Start. You will see the screen shake and hear a boom if you
did it correctly. After you have chosen your fighter(s) you can
choose the stage!
I also found that when you
press Down and start at Kano you will hear "You will never
defeat me" or something like that. I have no idea what it
does but I trying to figure it out.
Shao Khan's Treasures
Ever played the entire
game, gotten to the 'Pick your Treasure', and had no idea what to
choose? Here is the entire listing of all of Shao Kahn's
Treasures:
Top Row: (from Left to
Right)
Ending, Galaxia, Fight
Ermac, Fight Noob Saibot, Random Prize, Fatality Demo 1,
Brutality Demo 2, Fatality Demo 7, Noob+Ermac Endurance round,
MK2 Classic Endurance, Mega Endurance, and Old School Kombat.
Bottom Row: (from Left
to Right)
Past History (it's the
black and white PONG!!), Male Ninja Kombat, Animality Demo 1,
Brutality Demo 1, Friendship Demo 1 (looks like all of them),
Fight Khameleon, Fatality Demo 4, Anamality Demo 2, Female Ninja
Kombat, Supreme Demonstration (EVERY 'Finish Him/Her' in the
book!), Play Space Invaders (!! And some codes after), and the
Secrets of Trilogy.
Note: On the Novice
Tower you can select the first 5 (up to Random Prize), on the
Warrior Tower you can select the first 11 (up to Mega Endurance
Kombat), on the Master Tower and the 8 Player Kombat you can
select up to the bottom row, 5th choice (Friendship Demo 1), on
the Champion Tower you can select up to the bottom row, 11th
choice (Space Invaders), and on the Super Endurance Path mode and
on the Champion Tower you can select all of the Treasures.
Super Endurance
Path
The Super Endurance
Path kode is as follows: On the character select screen, go to
where Kano is and press down and start. If you do it correctly
Shao Kahn will taunt you. Choose your kombatant and pick the
hardest path. There you will now see that all matches are
endurance matches except the first two and the last. The first
match will be against Khamaleon, the second one will be against
Motaro and the last against Shao Kahn.
Also, have you beaten
the Super Endurance Mode? If you have, and if you have the
difficulty less than Normal, and have the Auto Combos on, then
Shao Kahn tells you to try again without them. But that makes the
game extremely difficult! So I found a better way:
Play the game with
whatever settings you use until you get up to Shao Kahn. Then LOSE.
When you continue, and get back to the Main Menu, go into Options
(Up + Start), and turn up the difficulty level, and turn off the
Auto Combos. Now go back into the game, and win. Now you get more
information from Shao Kahn on the 'Secrets of Trilogy' setting!
Unlimited Credits
In Mortal Kombat Trilogy, you
can increase your kredits to infinity simply by entering D, D, U,
U, R, R, L, L at the story screen. You'll hear a noise if you did the
code correctly (itmay take several times.) When you lose your
next battle, your remaining kredits window will say
"freeplay".
Bring Up the Red and
Blue Question Mark
During the story
screen, hit these buttons: HK, LK, RN, LP, HP, HP, HP, LP, LP.
You have to do this very quickly. If done right you'll
hear "OH-MAW," and you'll get BOTH the Red and Blue
question marks. These question marks will open up some hidden
extra options which are outlined below.
If you just want to
activate the Blue question mark, during attract mode press Down
(on the C group), B, A. You'll hear a noise, and you'll get the
Blue question mark activated.
Play RELLIM OHCANEP
(Galaga)
According to The Secrets Of
Trilogy Icon, after 100 rounds or wins, you'll be able to play
Galaga. If anyone can confirm this for us, and also if it's only
rounds or only wins, then please email us.
Play Invaders From
Space
In a two-player
game, select the Pit stage, and if an object like Santa or something
else flys over the moon, hit the Z-trigger button. The winner of
that round then gets to play Space Invaders. You might have to
play the level a few times before something will show up over the
moon.
Random Character Select
On the character selection
screen, put your cursor on Noob Saibot for player one or Rain for player
two. Now hold up and press start. Your cursor will then select a
fighter for you at random.
Johnny Cage's Three
Head Punch Off
While doing the Head Punch
Off fatality with Johnny Cage, hold HP, BLK & LP all at once. Johnny
Cage will then punch three heads off!
Exploding Babies
First of all, you
must do the Babality move. When the screen turns black and your opponent
turns into a baby, hold these four buttons: HP, LP, HK & LK.
You must continue to hold these buttons until the baby explodes.
Khameleon Code
Khameleon is on the Star
Bridge stage. It's like the Smoke trick from MK2: Just play a two-player
game and keep upper-cutting each other until the Toasty guy pops
out. When he does, just tap down + start. It looks just like what
happened in MK2 also, and then you fight Khameleon in the Living
Forest.
Khameleon's
moves/fatalities/combos depend on what color her name is on her life
bar. If her name is blue (hard to see when it's blue) she is
Kitana, when it's green she is Jade, and when it's purple she is
Mileena.
Human Smoke Code
Pick Cyber-Ninja Smoke.
Before the round starts, or in-between rounds, hold Back, HP, HK, RUN,
and BLOCK. Cyber-Ninja Smoke will explode and change into Human
Smoke.
Play as Shao Khan and
Motaro
Play as Shao Kahn:
Select any character. You must
be on either the Pit 3 or Rooftop stages. Before the round
starts, hold Down, HP, and LP. You'll see an explosion and Shao Kahn
will replace your character. If you win, you will remain as the
original character you picked, and not Shao Kahn.
Fatality (Hammer): F, B, B, HP
(sweep)
Play as Motaro:
Select any character. You must
be on either Jade's Desert, Kahn's Tower or the Wasteland stages.
Before the round starts, hold Back, HK, and LK. You'll see an
explosion and Motaro will replace your character. If you win, you
will remain as the original character you picked, and not Motaro.
Fatality (Head Rip): F, F, F,
HK (close)
Another Way to Play
Galaga or Pong
Select 8-Player Kombat
from the Mode Select Screen and win the whole thing. You will now
be able to select one of SHAO KAHN'S LOST TREASURES. Select the
second symbol (MK) on the first row to play Galaga, and
select the first symbol (Rayden) on the second row to play Pong.
Ultimate Kombat Kode
This cheat allows you to enter an
Ultimate Kombat Kode at any time during attract mode (when it shows
the story or demos). Simply rotate your joystick or D-pad
clockwise once or twice, it will then go to the screen as if you
just finished a game and allow you to enter an Ultimate Kombat Kode!
