Trip Report
October 8, 2025 – October 12, 2025

Welcome to the fall mini trip. This trip is actually just one leg of a longer trip but the rest is out of the Las Vegas area. I will be in town for about 4 days this time around. Not much time compared to my normal trips but enough time for a little fun. Off we go!

Day 1
Wednesday October 8, 2025

Picked up a rental car yesterday at the local airport with Avis. Booked a full size for $63 all in with a discount code through my job. They gave me a Chevy Trailblazer with 17,000 miles on it.

Flight today is early evening. Drive to Newark sucked because it was rush hour.

Got to Newark, returned car and headed to terminal A. Makes life so much easier going out of this terminal because it's attached to the rental car area.

Only had a carry on today so didn't have to check in and drop luggage. Checked in online and went right to CLEAR and TSA pre check line. Security was a little slow and I was randomly pulled for a body cavity search.

Had plenty of time so used one of my 1 time passes to go to the United Lounge.

Time to board. I was in group one as I'm flying first class. This is flight 1862 non stop to Las Vegas. I booked this 2 months ago for $576 all in. Took my seat 1A. Scheduled to depart at 8:09pm and arrive at 10:42pm with a 5 hour 31 minute flight time. Actual flight would be 4:55 according to the captain. Got hung up in Newark with air traffic and sat on the tarmac for almost an hour.

I pre ordered my meal of beef tenderloin. It was served with pasta, broccoli, salad, dinner roll and apple pie cheesecake. Quite good especially for airline food.

We arrived in Las Vegas at 11:02pm.

Hit a few slots real quick in the terminal. Not too bad and thanks to a bonus won over $100!

With no luggage to wait for I went right to the rental car shuttle. I had a car booked with Avis for 4 days using a discount code from work. I booked a full size for $102 base/$160 all in. They had me set up with a Hyundai Genesis with 22,000 miles on it. Unfortunately it was an EV so I asked them to change it out. Not interested in waiting for the thing to charge if I'm on the road. Got it swapped out for Jeep Wrangler also with 22,000 miles on it. Not my top choice but for 4 days I'll take it.

Got the car and was off to Silverton for the next 4 nights. Booked this through a mail offer of 4 nights, $300 free play and $50 food. The website actually allowed me to book a suite. Not sure if I was actually going to get this but I did.

I was given room 1062. They recently renovated the rooms here. Nice job on them too.

Got to the room, got settled in and crashed.

Day 2
Thursday October 9, 2025

Slept in and got caught up on rest.

Started with lunch at Sundance Grill. Has the prime rib dip melt. Good sandwich. Would get it again. Service was really slow in here today though.

Hit the Spin Poker machines. Started out rough down 3 bills in no time. Things started to change when I got dealt quad 8's. Started getting more dealt winners too. Flushes, straights and full houses were appearing. Got dealt 4 to a royal and paused. Took the shot, he shoots, he scores. Landed the needed jack on the bottom line for three royals and the $3018 hit.

Later on hit a bunch of quads including 3's, 4's, aces and dealt deuces. I was up over $700 not counting the royals but things changed and changed quickly. Cashed out and took a break with a small profit excluding the royals.

After the break decided on $1 single line with progressives for the bonus quads, aces and royal. Got dealt quad 4s within the first few minutes. Hit 4's again a few minutes later. Went on a quad and full house run and then hit aces. Quads kept coming. Had the meter up to almost $1600 on a $500 buy in. The bleed started so I cashed out with a $600 win.

Grabbed a quick meal at WuHu Noodle. Got mandarin noodle soup with pork and some chicken wings.

Finished up the night by running my $300 free play through the dollar progressives. Didn't hit much of shit. Turned the $300 into $250 cash.

Played a few slots before bed and won a whopping $8!

Total Comps For The Day = $555

Day 3
Friday October 10, 2025

Spent most of the day with Anne and Evelyn. Went to Juan's Flaming Fajitas for dinner. Got the usual taco combo.

Got back to Silverton and played. Spin Poker was killing me. Complete opposite of yesterday. Decide to just play some garbage games for fun with loss limit. First option was 100 play with STP. Up and down and just couldn't hit anything with a multiplier. Did get dealt RF4 and popped two of them for the $80 hit. Even with those I still dropped about $100. Switched to UX 10 play for dimes. Was doing quite well and landed a royal on line 10 for $400. Of course there was no multiplier on that line. Why would there be. One final game which is always a little fun was 3 way action poker. Had a few good hits and this is fun. Especially for 2 cents.

Played a little single line dollars. Only hit one quad and the got me out with a small win.

All in all not a terrible day but I didn't get in as much action as I would have liked.

Total Comps For The Day = $359

Day 4
Saturday October 11, 2025

Anne and Steve stopped by today and picked me up. We went to Durango to meet up with Evelyn. Today is a jacket giveaway for invited guests. Evelyn got me a nice Vegas Golden Knights Jacket.

For lunch we went to Irv's Burgers. Evelyn used her comps to cover the bill. Thanks for lunch Evelyn.

After lunch we came back here to Silverton and went to the pool.

For dinner we went to Sundance Grill. I got the chicken fried steak.

Everyone left after dinner. I had to take the rental car back to Avis this evening. Hate having to switch cars but I'm getting a new car with a better price than if I keep this one. This car was a total waste. I expected to drive a lot more than I did these 4 days. Once again booking with Avis with the same discount and a $15 off coupon I got a full sized for $475 base/$703 all in. This is a bit high but it's also a one way rental. Splitting the rental into 2 parts saved me the one way price for the first 4 days. This time around they gave me a Ford Bronco with 42000 miles on it.

Came back to Silverton and played video poker. Switched it up and played deuces 10 play. Good run with lots of dealt winners. Got dealt trip deuces 7 times. Connected only twice. Also got dealt a wild royal and just lots of other hits. Another session that you don't want to end. Cashed out with a $651 win.

That wraps it up for the Vegas leg of this trip and this report.
