Mum's The WORD
She has a schedule that would seem daunting to
most: a job on daytime's most popular show, four children, a husband
whose schedule is also demanding, charity appearances, premieres and
awards. Melody Thomas Scott must be able to juggle with the best
of 'em. "Not really," she admits. Luckily, as it turns out,
her life is not as hectic as it may seem "because of Y&R's scheduling.
Unlike other soaps, where actors are there all day and night, we can
come in, finish in two hours and go home. It's really not like a
full-time job!" That suits Scott perfectly, since her family
always has come first. "I can drop my kids off at school, go to
work, and be back at school just in time to pick them up. That's
one of the main reasons Y&R is so great for working actors with
families! We can actually have a home life." Wait - what
about all those fabulous parties? Scott laughs and says she and
her husband would much rather have a quiet dinner with the kids.
"We're very boring," she admits. "We stay in. We don't go to
a lot of parties."
