Day 20
Thursday July 4, 2019
Happy Independence Day to my American Readers
I got up and got ready for the day and headed back downtown. The plan today was to play at the D and if time permitted to get established at the Golden Gate. Both properties are offering 5x points today. I'm also armed with coupons from the ACG for $5 free play for every 50 points up to $100 and a $25 match play at both places. I've also got a mailer at the D with $75 free play and another $100 in match play and $100 food.
I stopped by the players club to activate my coupon and then it was off to the machines. I started off with single line because their multi line sucks.
Yahtzee Mike & Camela arrived right after I got that taken care of. I hadn't eaten yet and they just had a long ride in so we went to breakfast at The Grille. I had chicken and waffles and it wasn't very good. The waffles were overly sweet and the chicken came out of a bag of frozen prepared chicken breasts. Not only that but it was like $16.
When we were done eating I went to the Vue bar with Mike and we started pounding away. Mike played on my card and played quarters and I played dollars to try to get the play done faster. I was hitting enough quads to keep alive and hovering +/- $200 the whole time. Mike was starving for quads but took down a progressive straight flush for $199!
We continued to pound way and I was starting to get beat up at dollars and I almost had enough play in to max out the coupon so I switched to quarters to save bankroll. It turned into a great session when I hit a progressive royal for $1358!
I had enough play in and Mike and Camela went over to the Four Queens and I got my free play loaded onto my card. I ran it through single line 8/5 bonus for quarters. It took a while because the machine was slower than shit and the draw button didn't work so I had to use the screen. Thanks to a quad I turned the $175 into $166 cash.
I switched to the machine next to it and cashed in $100 worth of points. Nothing good happened here and I turned that $100 into 89 bucks.
Next up it was time for match plays. I had 5 of them, 4 from my offer and 1 from ACG all for $25 each. I bought in at a blackjack table. On the first hand my 17 got beat when the dealer flipped over an 18. Hand number two I drew to a 17 and the dealer drew to an 18. The third hand I busted my 13 against a dealer 10. The fourth hand I held a 13 against a dealer 6 and she promptly turned that into an 18. 4 in a row and I bought in again for another $25. This time I drew to a 19 and the dealer flipped over a 13, drew and ace, a deuce and a 5 for a 21 and 5 straight losses for my match plays and $125 down the toilet. So much for having an advantage. I've always said EV don't mean shit in the short term.
I left the D and met up with Mike and Camela at the Four Queens. Mike had some nice hits playing DDB on the 50 plays including getting dealt aces and hitting 17 kickers.
After a few hours over at the Four Queens it was time for dinner. Instead of going back to the Grille I thought it would be a good idea to go to Andiamo if they could get us in. It was early so it was still slow. I ordered the bone in rib eye with a side of risotto. Mike got the rib eye too and Camela got the lobster ravioli. This is my favorite higher end restaurant in town and the steaks are full of flavor. It was a great meal and I covered the bill with the rest of my July food offer and comp dollars from my account.
I left the downtown area and came back up here to Rampart. My first move was to activate a few more prizes from the online game and then it was off to the machines. I took a shot at dollars with no luck. I dropped 5 bills in no time at all. I was getting tired so I decided not to play anymore other than running my $275 free play through quarter triple play. In one of the worst free play run through ever I turned my $275 free play into $202 cash.
I swiped at the kiosk and got 3 vouchers for candy bars. The geniuses here at Rampart thought it would be a good idea to give away chocolate in July for every 50 points you earned, up to 3. Inside the wrappers could be free play prizes. I didn't win shit.
I decide to buy in at the craps table hoping to play for a while. This was a failure and I was down $325 in a matter of 10 minutes. I gave up not wanting to go to bed a loser tonight after hitting a $1358 royal and having had $550 in free play.
I wrapped up the night in the room with some TV and getting caught up on e-mails.
