Day 19
Sunday June 29, 2014
We were up early today and started with some video poker. Dee played triple play and scored a set of aces and a straight flush as well as countless hands being dealt 2 pair. She finished this short session up $200. I on the other hand was getting beaten again. Few dealt winners and way too many hands with no payout. I had a small come back and finished the session only down $100.
It was now time to take advantage of one of the perks of having a red card here. That is the complimentary brunch buffet. I used my vouchers for that and charged the cousins buffet to the room. This buffet is fair at best but the price was right. We were also able to sit in the special VIP area that get tables cloths, cloth napkins and a spacial mini buffet with fresh fruit, bagels and lox and champagne.
When we were done with breakfast me and Dee hit the machines again. I struggled with 5 play and then even tried a little ten play with no luck. I switched to triple play to try to stop the bleeding and on my Hail Mary attempt switching to double-double bonus popped threes with a kicker for $200. I switched back to bonus and played a bit longer and then popped a set of aces to finish my session down just $100 after some wild swings. Dee on the other hand had hover power. She got dealt quad nines and also drew quad nines 4 or 5 other times as well as popping a set of aces herself. She finished her session with a $150 win saving us once again.
Next up was a quick trip to the gym for some exercise and therapy for Dee (and a little for me too). Nothing too strenuous but enough to get the blood flowing and the muscles working.
Once we were done with the gym we met up with the cousins and decided to take a drive to see the London Bridge. Of all of the years we've been coming here we have never been. Normally they'd be spending their day at the pool but apparently while they were down there someone took a shit in it. It had to be evacuated for cleaning and remained closed.
The drive to London Bridge is ok running through three states. It took about an a hour and 20 minutes to get there. Once we were there we checked out the bridge, drove over and made a few stops. Other than that it took longer to get there and back than we spent there.
The ride back was uneventful and we got back to Laughlin around 7pm.
For dinner tonight we went to the Aquarius Cafe. We both got the Sign of the Zodiac Soup with noodles, bok choy, shrimp, scallops, pork and chicken. Since I don't like seafood I traded my scallops and shrimp with Dee for her pork and chicken! The soup was tasty and we were on our way.
It was time for more video poker. We both started with five play and I was getting killed. Dee popped aces early on but lost them all too. We were feeding bills into the machines one after another. I even took a shot with some spin poker. I did score a hand with three straight flushes and switched to triple play. From here I didn't hit much and the slow bleed ran me dry before I gave up. Dee was doing better and got dealt quad threes and then hit quad deuces shortly after. She cashed out with $300 but it was too little too late and we lost quite a bit this session and didn't get that much play.
We came to the room after the ass kicking and watched TV for a while and then it was time for sleep!
Total win/loss for the day - $450
