Day 3
Saturday December 19, 2009

This morning we were up bright and early again. Actually bright isn’t the word for it since it’s still dark at this hour! Dee woke up wide awake at 3:45am and thought it would be a good idea to turn the over bed lights on! Since we were now up we packed up most of our things and then went to the casino to take some pictures and hit the machines. We started off with the same Goldfish penny slots we played yesterday. Dee was hitting bonus rounds one after another but I couldn’t get even 1. Finally I was lucky enough to hit one, and I got the Goldfish and picked the chest with 15 free spins. During one of these spins I hit another bonus round and each spin during that ended up being 9X values. All in all I finished the round with over 30,000 coins. For a decent little win. Dee won a little bit too.

Next we hit the triple play video poker machines again. Again it was a total lack of dealt winners and quads. Dee lost here and I was getting beat up until I was dealt trip sixes and made the quad on 2 lines. I broke even but didn’t get much play.

For breakfast went to the Red Cup Café again. Dee got some type of breakfast wrap and I got Hawaiian French Toast. It was French toast with pineapple, golden raisins and some type of sauce. It was very tasty. We also got a fruit platter so we could burn the rest of the $50 resort credit. The food was good as was the service.

When we were done with breakfast it was back to the video poker. I had some better luck this time pulling a few quads. The killer was getting 3 aces on the deal and drawing a 4th one on two lines. A few minutes later I hit aces again. This was nice for the session but painful since we were only playing jacks and not bonus. I finished this session with a $100 win and poor Dee lost again.

At about 9am we made it back up to the room and it was time for a much needed nap. That sounds funny to be taking a nap at 9am but you must remember that SOMEONE got us up at 3:45am!

Today is moving day so we packed up the rest of stuff after our short nap. I checked our balance on the TV and all was well showing zero so I checked out right on the TV and we were off to the valet area where they were very friendly and helpful.

From M we went over to the Orleans for two things. The first was to pick up some tickets for Wranglers Hockey next week. The box office opened at noon and we were a few minutes early so Dee played a penny slot. No luck for her and got very few hits. The box office was now open and I grabbed a pair of tickets and paid for them using points from my Club Cost card.

Next up was lunch at the Courtyard Café. Dee got an Asian Chicken Salad and I got a Prime Rib Sandwich with Cajun fries. The food was good and our server was cool. I paid for this meal with points as well. While we ate we played a few games of Keno. We had a few small winners during the meal but in the end lost $5. After lunch it was off to the Strip to our next hotel.

The move today was to Bally’s. Originally this was booked for out first 4 nights until I got the great offer for M. I used to be able to get any nights comped at the Las Vegas Harrah’s properties but can’t anymore unless I had a mail offer. I did have mailers but nothing was good for the weekend. Dee on the other hand can get 5 nights comped at all of the Harrah’s properties except for Caesars Palace. All of this on 2k in action in the summer trip when she joined Total Rewards for the very first time. Originally I booked the reservation under my account and used Dee as a companion and the nights were comped. After the change Dee booked it on her account. Therefore, the next 2 nights are comped on Dee’s account.

When we got to Bally’s we checked in at the diamond check in area. Dee is only gold but I am a diamond player. In just a few minutes we were on our way to room 1528 in the north tower. This was an upgrade from what our reservation was for. This room has a king bed. There’s also a work desk, love seat, TV/Dresser combo, and makeup table. We have a view of Paris, The new Planet Hollywood/Westgate Hotel and a partial view of the Bellagio Fountains. The bathroom is rather small but is good enough, especially for a 2 night stay. The room is decent but is in need of a good cleaning and some touching up. The tab carpet is getting black in the main traffic areas and there’s paint peeling in the bathroom. We used Bell services here and the bellman then came up to the room with our bags was very friendly and really cool.

Once we were settled in we walked over to Bill’s. I have a bunch of match play coupons to burn here but we couldn’t get to a table to play any of them so we left. We walked down to the Imperial Palace. I’ve also got quite a few coupons for this place & Dee has a coupon that Harrah’s sent her for 2 free tickets to Human Nature. The show is actually dark this week so we wanted to see if they’d let us exchange those tickets for Matsuri. They didn’t and we were out of luck for some tickets for the show. The tables were all packed here too so we weren’t able to use and match play coupons.

Dee had $10 in free play so it this and $5 cash we tried a few pulls on Megabucks. We didn’t hit a thing and if you add this to the pulls she’s done each day, we were up to 17 straight spins without a pay off.

We left Imperial Palace and went back to Bill’s to play some penny slots. Dee hit a little bit right away but then lost. I was hovering around even before a down turn. I switched to a Wizard of Oz slot and got lucky with a bonus round and getting back to even. Next I tried some Goldfish but the bonus rounds were weak. All in total I dropped about $50 here and got very little play for it. This was odd because I usually do well here.

When we left Bill’s we came back over here to Bally’s. Since the video poker isn’t good we only play a minimal amount on Dee’s card to hopefully keep the offers coming. We chose a lame 7/5 bonus triple play game. I started out with a quad right away but that was the only one I got for quite a while. Oddly I was up for almost the entire time until the next quad. Dee wasn’t so lucky and lost fairly quickly and went to play some penny slots. I continued to pound away holding my own. I popped a few more quads to get a nice lead. Dee came back and was doing well. She ended up her second session even and I ended mine up $100 so between us we were even with the exception of the $20 she lost on the penny games. The true killer today was the number of full houses I hit. If this were a full pay game I would have easily been up another $30 - $40.

After we were done playing we came back up to the room and ordered room service for dinner. Dee had a club sandwich and I had an appetizer sampler platter. My food was average at best and highly overpriced as room service usually is. Dee signed the bill to the room and we’ll use her comps to cover it.

Total win/loss for the day $300
Total comps for the day $270
