Day 7
Sunday April 2, 2000

Up early and over to the IP to pick up T and D. They are moving over to Bally’s for the rest of their trip on the $19 rate. I was supposed to be at IP at 12 noon and while I was in the shower I realized I never moved my clocks ahead. It was actually after 11 and I had to get my ass in gear. This kind of pissed me off because I knew all week long I needed to do this and I still forgot. Not to mention the fact that I lost an hour of my vacation because of the time change too. I made it on time though and we drove over to Bally’s. They had walked over earlier in the morning and checked in even though the room wasn’t ready. We played some slots when we got there (ugh, I know) and couldn’t win a thing. After getting them settled into their room we decided to go have dinner at the Hard Rock on my comps that I still had left. The only problem was I left them at my room at the New Frontier.

We made a quick stop at the New Frontier. We played the horse racing game for a little while and ended up losing there too. Then it was off to the Hard Rock for some comped dinner at Mr. Lucky’s 24/7. I had watermelon BBQ ribs and they both had the steak and shrimp special. The food was good as it usually is. After dinner I tried Blackjack and they were off to play some slots. Things were bad at the table as the dealer kept getting 20’s and 21’s. I was losing with 20’s and I lost $500 even though I got 9 blackjacks during this session. Seeing as today was a total loss as far as gambling went for all of us we all decided to call it an early night. I dropped them off at Bally’s and headed back to the New Frontier. I was in bed by 9pm. Could you imagine? Asleep at 9pm? I woke up around 12 with a feeling I should be down at Binion’s. I got dressed and headed downtown to the Horseshoe and started playing some Blackjack. Things started off well here as I won 4 hands in a row. I got up over $1,000 and played down to being up $750. I moved to another table and things started out good here too. Then they got tough. I got to my last $100 and put $50 in 2 hands. I got a double on both hands. It was time to make it or break it here. Dealer broke and I won $200 on this hand. Things stayed good from here on until I quit cashing out up by another $500.

Now it was 3:30 am and feeling hungry I went to the Las Vegas Club for a late night special at the dugout coffee shop. I had the steak and eggs, which was a small steak, 2 eggs, toast, and home fries (with peppers in them, YUCK) for $2.95.

One thing I noticed on my way up the to Las Vegas Club was that Mermaids (formerly Sassy Sally’s) was closed. Then I looked to the other side of Fremont Street and La Bayou (formerly Coin Castle) was closed too. I had never heard of this. A casino actually was closed at night? Too bad they don’t close these dumps permanently!

Got back to the room at 4:30am and went back to bed.

Total win/loss for the day $700
Total comps for the day $ 99
