Day 5
Wednesday December 22, 2004

Hotel:
Today is a moving day. I’ll be moving up to Green Valley Ranch. This is the first time I’m staying here and I’m really looking forward to it. I don’t have much action here and don’t get much mail from them. Oddly though for the last few months I’ve been getting mail offers for 2 free nights and $100 in resort/spa credits. This is on top of the numerous tournament entries and concert invites I’ve gotten. While I hate 2 night stays I couldn’t miss the chance to add another hotel to the list of places I’ve stayed and the $100 credit made it an easy choice.

I’m in room 3001. It has a king bed, 2 nightstands, sitting chair with end table, work desk, TV cabinet/dresser, a huge closet with a safe and a table with over priced snacks, and a coffee maker.

The bathroom is pretty large and has a glass shower stall, a bathtub and vanity. It also has a real hair dryer, not one that’s bolted to the wall. The toilet is in a separate room. There is also a dial on the wall that controls the volume of the TV so you can hear the TV while taking care of business!

Dining:
Rich, Dawn, Yahtzee Mike and me went to the Pasta Palace at Boulder Station. I went with the chicken francese. It came with spaghetti and soup or salad. I went with Minestrone. I thought my meal was pretty good. I’ve had better but definitely had much worse. We had 2 for 1 coupons from the POV and were going to use points to cover the rest. They were good for buy one entrée and get one free up to $15. The waiter actually took $15 off each bill (it was split since there was 4 of us) instead of the $12 that the entrée was.

Gaming:
I started off the day with Rich going to Slots-a-Fun while Dawn stayed at the hotel and went to the Spa. My first stop though was in Circus – Circus to collect $100 that they offered me in the mail. From there it was on to the 9/6 jacks triple plays again. I got quite a bit of play and hit 2 straight flushes and numerous quads. The first $100 lasted a long time but then got gobbled up. The second $100 I popped in was starting to disappear before I went into a quad run. It seemed like I was hitting quads every few hands. I finally quit with a win of $101.

After checking in at GVR I went to Boulder to meet up with everyone. I used the 3X points coupon from the POV. I didn’t plan on playing much but the coupon expires next week so I figured it couldn’t hurt to use it. I played FPDW and finished the session even after quite a while.

After dinner we hit the craps table. They had a $2 game tonight with 10X odds. The table started cold but then got a little better. I was up and down and had 1 decent roll to get ahead. There was one dick standing next to me telling me to stop setting the dice and just throw them. He was also bitching about how if you don’t just pick them up and throw them you can’t win. Then he blamed Mike for when he sevened out because his hands were over the table (they weren't anywhere near the dice). What an asshole this guy was. We won’t even mention he was placing numbers across the board for $2 each. I cashed out of this session with a $110 win. After this we all went our separate ways. Tonight was Yahtzee Mike’s last night so we all said good bye to him before heading out.

Total win/loss for the day $300
Total comps for the day $330
