Day 7
Friday July 3, 2009
This morning we got up early so we could be the crowds and enjoy some of the quiet. We started the day off at the Aquarius and the triple plays. Today we played on my card figuring we’ll get the same amount of action on my card as we did on Dee’s yesterday. I’m not a new member though since I had a card at the old Flamingo and I also have a card in Las Vegas. Things started out choppy here for both of us and in no time we were feeding bills into the machine. Dee snagged a set of aces that pulled her back to life and also got some nice dealt winners to help the credit meter grow. I switched to 10-play and also hit a few quads including a set of aces for myself. We got about 2 hours of play in and cashed out the session with a $100 win.
We were hungry now and went to the Aquarius Café for breakfast. I had the Belgian Waffle with 2 eggs & sausage. The waffle was delicious and the rest of the food was good too. Our server was George and he was cool.
After breakfast it was back to the VP. Dee had never played 10-play before and wanted to try it and I played some too. I was just getting my ass handed to me this session. Very few dealt winners although I did hit a high amount of quads. It wasn’t enough to off set the lack of dealt winners. I fed in bill after bill after bill. I even switched back to triple play to slow the bleeding but it didn’t help. Dee got lucky and only had to feed in 2 before we cashed out dead in the water dropping about $700 before the bloodbath was over.
From VP we played some penny slots again with little luck. I got by only losing about $20 though and got to play for a while on that.
We’d been playing for a few hours now and got killed. We came back here to Harrah’s and napped for a while because we were a little tired from being up so early. Getting killed doesn’t help much either!
For dinner we went to the Beach Café. I had a $50 food coupon they sent me in the mail so we wanted to use that tonight. We started off with an Egg Roll appetizer and they were very tasty. Dee had a jalapeno burger and I had the pork chop dinner. My dinner came with soup (vegetable), peas & corn, and a baked potato. The food was excellent but the pork chops were not much thicker than paper. We finished off with carrot cake and ice cream for dessert and we got a piece of chocolate cake to go to max out the comp.
We went back to the Aquarius after dinner to play some more but first made a quick stop at Family Dollar. Dee doesn’t have these up in Canada so wanted to check it out. I tried to warn her it was nothing special! We were going to play some VP but the machines we liked were being played by people so we sat in at a $10 double deck blackjack table. This was the table from hell. The first deck the dealer didn’t have a hand less than 20 with exception of one bust. Things leveled off but were still choppy and then went to hell again. The dealer pulled a few too many 5-6 card 21’s so we cashed out. Dee got away with only losing $25 but I got whacked for another $150. This was the gambling day from hell and all of the profits from earlier in the trip were now gone, and then some.
We left Aquarius and came back to Harrah’s. We stopped off at the Keno Lounge and bought a 10 game ticket and came back here to the room to watch the numbers on TV while we wound down from a long, tough day. In the 10 games we had 1 winner for a dollar.
Total win/loss for the day -$750
Total comps for the day $175
