Day 2
Gaming:
On my way out I stopped and put a 20 into the silver strike machine. This was a waste. The machine was tight today and I didn’t get a strike. Hell, I only got $30 in play out of it.
After lunch I took a walk over to Westward Ho. I didn’t play here but I took a walk around. They used to have a $1 craps game with double odds but now I see they have raised it up to a $5 and are offering 10X odds. I think a $5 game is too much for this place since the table was dead.
After walking through the Ho I crossed over to the Riviera. I got onto the craps game. The dice weren’t really cooperating. I even started betting the dark side but everyone left and I was the shooter. I never shoot from the dark side and ended up wiping myself out. I dropped about $150 here before heading back over to Slots-a-Fun.
I got back onto the same machine as I was on earlier. Things weren’t going as well this session as they were in the first session. The machine gobbled up $100 in almost no time and I was getting flashbacks of December again. The next $100 lasted quite a while but the machine was a lot streakier this time too. I decided to put in one more $100 bill and play a bit more. This $100 almost disappeared in record time. I was down to my last hand and was dealt a full house. This put me back into the game. I eventually had the credit meter back up to $300 again. From here things leveled out for a while before going back down hill. I was just about to quit when I was dealt quad sixes. This got me back up there and I decided I’d play until I was back to even for the session or down just $100. This turned out to be a good move because on one of my last hands I held 3 cards to a royal and filled it on the bottom line, got nothing on the middle and pulled a flush on the top for a 4020 coin win. I cashed out right after the hand pay. This royal was exciting for me because at this point I was over 90,000 hands without hitting one.
After I hit the royal I spent some time driving around town to kill some time and to avoid losing everything I just won. After a few stops for some supplies (junk food, soda, etc) I came back to Silverton for a short break.
After the break I went down to the bar and played some 8/5-bonus. Things started out well with 2 quads right off the bat. Unfortunately these were the only 2 quads I would hit this session before losing my $100 buy in.
After video poker I went over to the craps table. The table seemed good by everyone’s mood. I bought in for $200 and other than my initial bets I was never into my original money. I had 2 pretty good rolls making 4 points on one roll and hitting numerous other numbers along the way. I was up over $200 before 2 losers went out right away and I cashed out with about $150 win.

Wednesday March 24, 2004
I started off the day by heading to Circus-Circus. Today being Wednesday Slots-a-Fun offers 2X points. My favorite play here is the 9/6 Jacks or Better Triple Plays. I found a machine on the bank that was set very fast. The machine was being pretty good to me. I was hitting a fair amount of quads and getting enough dealt winners to keep going. The only major highlights of this session were pulling in inside straight flush for 250 coins. I also hit 4 aces twice, once with a kicker, too bad I wasn’t playing Double Bonus or Double-Double Bonus! After about an hour and a half and a $100 profit it was time to take a lunch break.
For lunch I got a comp to the Pink Pony coffee shop in Circus-Circus. I ordered the hot open turkey sandwich and a bowl of soup. The food was good but the service was horrible today. While I was waiting for my food a co-worker of mine came up to my table. Go figure. 2500 miles from home in a city with millions of people and places and I run into someone I see every day at work.
Total comps for the day $49
