Day 2

I got up really early today especially considering ho late I went to bed. Today’s plan was to check into Circus – Circus and hit the machines at Slots – A – Fun. Even though I’m checking into the room here I won’t be staying in it. I just had to book the room though since it came with $400 in free play. It’s tough to pass that up. I arrived at Circus – Circus pretty early but I as able to check in. I was given room 725 in the Main Tower. This was a standard room with 2 queen beds, nightstand, Dresser/TV cabinet combo and a work desk. I checked out the room and headed to the slot club to activate my free play but the line was a mile long so I just went over to Slots – A – Fun to start playing. I hit the lone 5-play machine with 9/ jacks or better on it. Things were choppy here and I wasn’t getting very many dealt winners. I got a few quads including the card of the day. Today’s card of the day was 5 and I hit that twice this session. It pays an extra $10 at the quarter level. I finished off this session down a few hundred and headed back into Circus – Circus.

I had plans to meet up with Ned in NYC for lunch here. We went to the Casino Café (formerly the Pink Pony). I had a bowl of tomato soup and the prime rib sandwich with potato chips. The meal was good after eating it was time for more VP!

I activated my $400 in free play at the slot club and found a triple play machine in the main casino with 8/5 bonus for dollars. I don’t usually play dollar triple play but I thought I’d take a shot at hitting a quad or 2. It was also allow me to run through the free play faster than at quarters so I could cash out the profits faster. I didn’t hit any quads but did hit a few decent hands. In the end after I played through the $400 I had $300 left and headed back over to Slots – A – Fun for more quarter five play.

Things were choppy here again but I was getting more dealt winners to keep me going. I also hit the card of the day 2 more times. That’s 4 times today so far. It’s strange that sometimes I hit the card of the day so many times and then there are days I never hit it at all. I finished this session up a little bit and then took a break up in the room here for a while.

After break time it was back to the 5-plays for some more play. Things were decent this time with lots of dealt winners and a few quads. On one had I was dealt a flush with 4 to a royal flush. I dropped the odd card but didn’t hit a royal. I wasn’t happy about that. I think the machine might have felt bad for me about doing that to me though because a few hands later it DEALT me a royal flush and the machine locked up. I had just won $5000! Most of the staff at this place never saw such a thing before and they were all excited (fishing for tips). After a short wait I was finally paid and they took a picture of me with a fake check.

While I was waiting for the hand pay for the dealt royal I moved over to the machine next to me and played triple play. In one of the first few hands I got dealt a straight flush for 750 coins. From here the machine was pretty good and I was able to cash out ahead on this machine with a small profit.

After my hand pay I still had credits on the machine so I kept playing. Things were still pretty good here and I got dealt a quad which is fun on 5-play! Of course it’s not quite the same once you’re dealt a royal flush. I was dealt hand this session with 3 to the royal. I didn’t hit the royal but the bottom line ended up being a straight with the queen being the wrong suit. I yelled at her for messing up my royal. Again the machine must have heard me because on the next hand I hit a royal on line 4 for my 6th one of the day!

I played a little bit more before cashing out the rest of my credits. The machine seemed to have gotten cold after all those royals and I figured I’d get while the getting was good and walk out with my hug win for the day. This was definitely my best day at VP ever.

I left Circus – Circus and came back here to the Hard Rock. I got into a craps game and Dealer Ron said the first shooter they had when they opened the table rolled for a half an hour. This didn’t make me happy especially after last night’s ass kicking. This table started out pretty choppy but then leveled off. Things steadily got better but then it would get choppy again, then cold for a while. We had a couple shooters do that number, number out shit and that really hurt. All in all after a few hours I cashed out with a small profit.

After finishing up the session I went over to the coffee shop for breakfast. I had the basic 2 eggs that came with toast, hash browns and some grapes.

I finally got to bed around 4am and felt a lot better about today’s play than I did about last night!
