My Stinson 108-1

I found this aeroplane in the desert with dirt in it's cockpit, varnish in the wingtanks,no tires, holes in the fabric and so on. O'Ring was my great savior. He helped me get it out of the desert and I will always be beholden to him for that. We worked days on it and he flew it out to be repaired. Later, I rebuilt it and flew it for years with new Stitts covering on it.

Here it is at the airport with I finished it. 1975

This was the day I was finished with the rebuild and took it to the airport to assemble. What a glorious day. MY FIRST FLYING MACHINE that I could call my very own!! There's nothing like it. It's like a dog in many ways.

Another shot of the great day. I flew it for three years everytime I could get to the airport. It ran real well on car gas and 14 millimeter lawnmower plugs.

For some reason these are the only shots I can find of it anywhere. It's just been too many years.
