Thanks for your quick response. So nice to know that we both and many like us (we got to locate them) share the same feelings for our school. The school is in the same status what it used to be when we all studied there. We have grown a lot in life but our school hasstayed there in its old status. The competition from the local Matriculation schoools are plenty, and our school doesnot have the muscle power to fight the competition. It is 100 years old now.. We are destined to bring it back to its old glorious days. If we all unite and make it our priority we all can do it. I have put up a page in the website about myself. I just did it. please visit https://www.angelfire.com/nv/myschool/self.htm I studied there from 1973- 1981 in my VI standard to XII th. Last year Jan 1999, I visited the school and worked for the Former Students Association. Dr. K.Venkataramanan, Teachers Ms. Pushpavalli, Mr. K. Rajendran, Mr. Muthukumaraswamy, Mr. N. Venkataraman (famous NV2) were also part of it. We had the former students Association day, and celebrated with lots of fine-arts presentation, patti mandram etc. The topic for the patti mandram was 'Nam palliyaal manavargalukku perumaiya alladhu nam manavargalal pallikku perumaiya ?' It was very nice. Mr. KR, Mr TRT, Mr NV and a whole lot of people participated in that. All were former students of our school and they were excited about it. I said that I will prove that our Former students are very much proud of the school and we will prove it in the Centenary Celebrations. In that meeting I promised on behalf of all our former students we should build the new Centeneray building to commemmorate the Centennial Year. The site opposite to our school (photos of which I will flash in our web site soon) was donated by somebody when I was studying there. For good 20 years it is not built properly. We used to have a thatched roof over there and it was called as 'Mattu Kottai' very affectonately. It has a new asbestos roof now. Thats all We are planning to convert it to a nice building with 3 stories each with 6 class rooms. The estimated amount for the cost of each class room is Rs. 60000/-. This amount is very conservative. We may be able to meet it. There is an engineer Mr. Gopal who is our former student, and whose father Mr. S. Mahadevan worked and died for our school has taken the work of building the same. I said we students should take the cost of each class room. I have promised to donate Rs. 1,20,000 towards the cost of two class rooms. My friend and classmate Shri Ramprakash (now in SanJose California) has alredy donated Rs. 100,000 towards the fund. The next major task is walling the playground. Lot of encroachments have come in that area. We need to build the wall around it so that the school ground doesnot get eaten up by the anti-social elements. It is estimated to cost 800,0000. It is again a dream of ours. We should do it. I dream that our school should get more and more buildings in the Mahadhana street area to host more classes and hostels. If our Alumni Association grow well we can take the management of the school and bring to the level of a Deemed University (a far reaching dream of mine). People like you should come forward. I live in main mayiladuturai. My parents are still there. They live in TV Textiles house. I have lot of friends in Mayuram. ARC Jewellers people, Mohan, Muthukumar are my class mates. If you know the Oppilamani Pillai paddy people, that KSO Suresh is my class mate too. There is a Karar Jawli store family member who is also my class mate. From Arangakudi, my friend and class mate Fazlur Rahman who won the Star of India award for the school in 1978 used to sit next to me in the 9th standard. Together we should make it big for the school. We can.. If you can send me some articles, your photos etc to my address, I can host them in the website. The students are the only assets for the school. So far we were her non-performing assets. We all should come out to be the best performing assets for our alma mater. When you go back to our town for vacation please find some time to visit the school. Talk to Dr. K. Venkatramanan our correspondent, the HM and other teachers, particularly K. Rajendran and BM Shankaran and Shri Muthukumarasamy. They are dedicated for our school. If you can come with a big helping hand... the thousands of students who are studying there will bless you and our family. If you can mobilise more students from your area and community that will be a big blessing. Let us all get toegether and keep this our goal and make it a big day for our school. Our School has had many correspondents. Most of them are very busy and big people. Our school wanted to have VIPs as their correspondents and none of them had time to perform well for our school. They were all letter-head correspondents. Now Dr. KV is a very dedicated person. His heart really beats for the school. He and his sons are all former students of our school. Dr. Krupanidhi BDS is his son and he studied in our school in my time. Dr. V. Balaji is our former student too. The former students Association was just living in the letterheads for a long time. In fact its old account with Rs 116/- as the only balance was lying frozen in the Urban Bank branch in Mahadhana street. We all worked for it and revived the association. The motto for our association is "SURVIVE AND REVIVE". WE ALL SHOULD BRING THE SCHOOL BACK UP LIKE A PHOENIX BIRD. We SHOULD MAKE IT BIG.. with the helps of all you people. If you are in United States please feel free to call me at home. My phone is XXX-XXX-XXXX. Please feel free to email me at my address. Please remember to visit our website often. I am going to put more and more details there.. In fact I am planning to photos and brief summaries of all our old students there. Please send me your details and articles there. Please write a little write-up on "my inspiring teachers at DBTRNHSS". We have plans to honour those teachers at the Centenary Celebrations there. If you want you can sponsor some presents for your teachers there. Once I wrote a good program for which I got lot of recognitions. That time I thought of the teaching profession. Whenever I got good marks, all the praises should have been given to my teachers. They got nothing then. They should get some recognitions now.. Please.. Please send in your articles.. and ofcourse your commitments. The amounts and things you commit we will put in the website. Talk to you later,
