7 Park Avenue 1998

7 Park Avenue 1998

A nice spring morning in 1998, me and my dad took the London-underground out to the Golders Green area. Our goal? To track down where the heroes of Badfinger used to live!

That's me outside Golders Green Station!
When we came up from the underground station, we found a map of the local city, and yeah, there it was PARK AVENUE.First we had to find Park Road. We started walking up the main-road of Golders Green, not really knowing which way to go (it was hard to tell from the map if Park Road was in the north or in the south part of Golders Green, the only thing we knew was that Park Road was number three on the right from the main-road) The first guess we made was wrong, but number two, yeah this place really started to look like my idea of Golders Green, it was really "green". We found Park Road and turned right. And suddenly:

There it was. Park Avenue. All the houses looked like the one from the 7 Park cover, so all we had to do was to find number seven.

A view down of Park Avenue, number seven was not far away!
At full speed we went down of Park Aveue. But it was a very long road!Another thing we could tell was that this place was not for the poor-ones, Big cars, big houses. Though we were in the center of London and the Golders Green main-road was just around the corner, it could have been any old village-road we were walking on. It was really a nice place.

We found it!! After taking pictures we went back to the center of Golders Green hoping to find an old pub where they pehaps could show us pictures and tell us stories from the old days. Unfortunately we didn't find any! But when we returned to our hotel we were really in a good mood, we found it!
