Comments:

This was The Shirelle's debut album; originally released in 1961. Before the album's release, four songs had already appeared as singles and among these both "Will You Love Me Tomorrow" (no.1) and "Dedicated to the One I Love" (No .3) had made it fantastically. Two more tracks had been released as B-sides – one of them "Boys" was later made into a classic by The Beatles.

So there are actually only six "new" tracks on "Tonight's the Night" Among these, which are generally quite solid, producer Luther Dixon wrote three; strongest "Oh, What a Waste of Love" which is a nice light upbeat rocker. Dixon also wrote "Tonight's the Night" and "Boys". A fine debut album that became a great inspiration to many later artists and groups; among those The Beatles.
