Comments:

I believe this was this is the commercially most successful album The Manic Street Preachers has released so far. The album reached the top of the charts in 1998 and four singles picked from the album reached the top 20; "If You Tolerate This" even reached first place. The three great singles open the album, “The Everlasting”, "If YouTolerate This" and "You Stole the Sun From My Heart"; all three very melodic and catchy rockers; it's almost like you're in the middle of a greatest hits album.

The organ ballad "Ready For Drowning" is also fine - though less pronounced. The fourth big hit "Tsunami" follows and you are back on the hits-track - you might think. The second half of the album, though, doesn't quite hold up, although the ballads "My Little Empire" and "You Tender and You're Tired" as well as "Nobody Loved You" are all really good.

Overall a great album.
