Comments:

When I first listened to Coldplay's "Mylo Xyloto" I was somewhat disappointed and did not feel that it lived up to the previous albums. It seemed there were just not as many really good songs as I had hoped for and expected, and furthermore some songs sounded a little too much like something I had previously heard.

Now after several listenings, I tend to find the album on a par with "Viva la Vida" and "Prospekts March"

"Paradise" stands out by being a decidedly pop-song in a way somewhat atypical of the group - in any case a really nice song.

"Us Against the World" and "Up in Flames" is classic Coldplay ballad - at its best.Among the more rocking up-beat songs "Hurts Like Heaven," "Charlie Brown" and "Every Teardrop is a Waterfall" come out strongest in the picture.

You can with some right to criticize the group for not having been good at innovating, but they are skillfully continuing creating music in the vein they started, and I believe most fans are satisfied with this.

The sound and mastering has been criticized a lot, and I can only agree that there are times where things sound like when the pick-up of a record player has collected a large lump of dust. I wonder if at some point comes a remastered version of the album will be made: this it might well deserve.
