Comments:

This is the first, and so far the only, album I know of with Black Box Recorder. What struck me first on the album was the slightly flimsy but also quite sexy voice of Sarah Nixey. Coupled with many fine and catchy melodies, I could only fall for this charming and intelligent album.

The sound is light and open and not unlike the early albums with The Cardigans, and most of the lyrics are both intelligent and interesting and not without humor. It's really hard to highlight individual numbers, because they are actually all very good.

The two songs that first really caught my attension were "The English Motorway System"; possibly things because of the unusual song title, and also the title song "The Facts of Life", which I have been able to read to was also a nice hit for the group. A very interesting song about what is going on inside young boys’ minds

To sum it up, the is a very interesting and original album, and I will definitely follow it up with one of the group's other releases, which by the way, only counts two albums and a compilation.
