Comments:

"Everything's Different Now" from 1988 was the third and last album from Aimee Mann's group ’Til Tuesday. The group continues their crisp sound, characterized by well-sounding guitars and of course Mann's fine vocals; but the songwriting is clearly matured and many songs are not significantly different from Mann's first solo records.

Commercially, the album was no success and the group disbanded shortly after its release. Perhaps at this point, Aimee already had a solo career in mind, with the possibility of shaping her musical development even more. Except for the fine title-track, Mann is the songwriter or co-writer of the rest of the album.

Although "Everything's Different Now" disappointed commercially at its time, the music does not disappoint. It is clearly the strongest of the three albums the group released and an absolutely worthy finale. Perhaps with the exception of the slightly tame "How Can You Give Up" all numbers are fine. Mann would later write, record, and release plenty of even stronger music; But that's another story.

Of the individual songs "The Other End (Of the Telescope)" which Mann wrote with Elvis Costello must be highlighted; a great song that probably has more in common with Aimee's early albums than with ’Til Tuesdays usual music. Otherwise, favorites are "Why Must I","J for Jules" and "Lucky"
