Comments:

So much has been written about this album, one of the greatest in rock history, that it seems needless to try to contribute further. I will, though, give a few comments about my own completely personal relationship to the album.

After "Meddle", which in many ways was also an epoch-making album, with electronic experiments used in completely new ways – not least on "One of These Days", I had high expectations for "Dark Side of The Moon". Although the album overall is actually very melodic, it was initially only "Brain Damage / Eclipse" I totally fell for. Both melodically and lyrically, this track is just incredibly fascinating; I had to grab the guitar and try to play and sing along with it. "Money", which was the number most often played on the radio, I was less fascinated by. Although it is really a strong number with a great bassline and lots of beautiful guitar, I felt that there was a somewhat different mood and sound on the number compared to the rest of the album. Atmosphere is a key word for this album, which is extremely well produced with a the same time a grand and airy sound. Added to this comes beautiful compositions so everything is present for a masterpiece.

"Us and Them" is the album's longest with almost eight minutes; but by no means longwinded, with its great melody, beautiful vocals and a superb saxophone solo. Other big favorites besides the ones mentioned are "Breathe" and "Time".
