Comments:

I guess this album from Los Bravos should be considered their second; but the group did, actually, release a soundtrack album before this, featuring several Spanish-language songs. There were a few honorable songs on that album, but overall it was not very good.

"Dame un poco de amor" is clearly better; however, mostly by virtue of 2-4 stand-out tracks. For the album really is very uneven and you don’t feel any clear direction in the music. Will the group just entertain mainstream, or will they play pop/rock for the young with songs in the vein of their breakthrough "Black is Black". Many tracks are embellished with strings and horns. Overall the album lacks good songs.

The album stand-out is Vanda / Young's "Bring a Little Lovin '". Los Bravos perform the number with a sure hand and their version is almost as good as The Easybeats' own. The number was released on single, but sales unfortunately disappointed. The actual sequel to their hit single "Black is Black" was "I Don't Care" written by producer Raymonde. "I Don't Care" is also on this album, and the song is another one of the better songs on "Dame un poco de amor". As a sequel to "Black is Black", the song was probably not very well chosen. Where "Black is Black" was solid r & b, "I Don't Care" is almost pop-style Motown. In terms of building a fan base, a clearer line would probably have been preferable. "Play with Fire and Get Burned" is probably more in line with "Black is Black" and it is also one of the better songs. Solid is also "I'll See You Through", which contains elements of both Motown and psychedelia. "You Got Until the Morning" is another Vanda / Young song. Vanda / Young is one of my favorite songwriting teams, but this particular song does not quite live up to expectations - but a decent song, though

The rest of the songs on the album are to varying degrees candidates to the book of oblivion.
