I always get excited when a new Swedish-language album from Lisa Ekdahl is announced. I never really fell for her English-language music. The previous album "När alla vägar leder hem" from 2017 was really good, so I had high expectations for "Bang bang i mitt hjärta". The title track, which was released somewhat before the album itself, sounded very promising, although it was lyrically somewhat repetitive (Bang bang).

Unfortunately (for me), this time her melodies are more jazz-inspired than in Swedish chant tradition and folk music. In most tracks, I miss the charm that usually characterizes her Swedish albums. Of course, there are good songs, and the music is, as always, well-produced and performed by talented musicians.

In addition to the title track, I would like to highlight "Vida vinger", "Det findet inget större" and "Skärver". The other tracks haven't really caught on, yet.
