Stealers Wheel are a folk rock/power-pop band formed in 1972 by former school friends Joe Egan and Gerry Rafferty.
Tensions and personal ambitions let to several line-up changes, and by the time of the recording the second album the group were in in fact a duo supported by selected musicians.
When the third album was released in 1975 the group had ceased to exist. Stealers Wheel have reformed in recent years without key members Egan and Rafferty but with Paul Pilnick, Rod Coombes, Tony Williams and a new member Tony Mitchell (guitar):
