The Bangles formed in 1981 in Los Angeles. Originally they called themselves the Colours, which was later changed to the Bangs, until finally the Bangles prior to the release of their first record. After several big hit-singles and 3 albums they split in 1990. In 2000 the Bangles reformed and have so far released one more album on Liberty Records.
Band Members:
Susanna Hoffs: Born 1962, vocals and guitar. Hoffs is the front figur and lead singer of the band, which has caused some jealousy over the years. Hoffs was the co-writer of their classic "Eternal Flame", and was alos the writer of several album tracks.
Vicki Peterson: Born 1958, lead-guitar and vocals. Vicki has been the most productive songwriter of the band.
Debbi Peterson: Born 1961, drums, vocals . Debbi has also been involved with the writing of several Bangles songs.
Annette Zilinskas: Born 19--, bass and vocals. Zilinskas had left the band ( for Blood on the Saddle ) with the release of the debut album in 1984 .
Michael Steele: Born 1954, Bass and vocals. Replaced Zilinskas. Steele had formerly been a member of the Runaways
