A small word on Folklore

The folklore of  the ninja involve all of the stories past down from generation to generation. These stories further add to the mystery behind the ninja. The illusion or magic techniques as they were sometimes called, if witnessed by bystanders also can further add to the folklore as stories tend to be exaggerated in some way as they are past by word of mouth through out each generation. Because of what we see on television or video games we tend to get caught up in the folklore and not truly understand what the ninja were about in the past and have become today.
Hopefully this page will help to smooth out some of wrinkles in our understanding of the ninja and their ways.

Misconceptions of the Ninja

First off, let me start by saying that not all ninja were hired killers, and yes they really did exist. We have to separate the fiction of T.V. from the real world. Most Ninja seek out to do good because of the oppression of the Samurai warlords. I'm still doing reading on this, but it seems to me that the type of ninja one became was based on who how trained under or what school he belonged to. In the books I have read one of the main rule of the ninja were to work for the poor and teachers. The more information I get on this subject the more I will provide to you.
