Hallo, and welcome to my tape trading page.
A few notes to keep in mind:
While I'd love to trade for anything I don't have, I am especially looking for the other "Freaks and Geeks" episodes with Trace and/or Joel, the Sci-Fi Era episodes I don't have, and footage from July's Gateway Con.
I trade for one episode per tape, in SP speed. I'd rather not make copies for you in EP speed, but I might.
My own episodes are in fairly good condition and complete, from theme song to stinger, unless otherwise noted, and I'm looking for episodes in the same state: ones which are reasonably clear aurally and visually, and which start at least during the theme song and end after the stinger. I don't care if they have commercials or not.
I do not make a usual practice of copying tapes for money, for two important reasons: I don't have the best quality tapes, and I don't have the best quality equipment. If you would like to buy tapes, try tapes@mst3kguy.com (formerly slvrsufr@cerf.net), or look for other sites whose authors sell very good quality tapes. I know they're out there.
As for copying tapes onto blanks you send me, I may or may not do that. It is not a usual thing for me, but if you are hard-up for episodes, ask and I'll see if I have time.
Ungraded episodes scare me when I see them on other people's sites, so I've decided to start grading all of my own tapes. I started doing this with a system of EXcellent, Very Good, or Good, but now I think regular old letter grades would be better, so I'll be starting doing that, and hopefully I will be able to proceed persistently and actually get the job done reasonably soon. Until then, if you would like to trade for an ungraded episode, feel free to ask me about how good my copy is and I'll check it for you.

-StarCon VG
Q&A with Joel, Jim, Trace, and Kevin in Denver in 1992. Probably second gen. About 1 hour and 45 minutes. Picture fairly grainy but adequate (meaning you can tell who everyone is and sometimes make out expressions on faces). Interesting stories about the beginnings of the show and some very funny stuff.

Quality is good for this kind of tape, some of the spots are fairly grainy. Several David Letterman spots, a few SNL spots, then at the St. Paul Winter Carnival and a couple other places. It's really neat.
-The first live show, MST Live Uptown VG/EX
First half of the movie (World Without End) added, then the rest is home video footage from the theater. It's a little hard to make out the riffs, but you can tell what they say outside the movie segments and it's still peachy keen.
-This is MST3K VG/G (grainy, with little white dots flashing on it) (and BOY is Penn Gillette annoying!!)

Mike and Kevin in New Orleans November 21, 1998. They read some editing requests from SFC, show the Gumby short, and answer questions. A transcript is here. This is very high quality home video footage.
-1991 promo segment and Season 5 host segment rehearsals VG
The promo tape is only about 5 minutes long. The rehearsals are many, though. It's all a little grainy.
-MST Cast Appearances & Interviews Volumes One and/or Two (two SP tapes) EX
Which is just what it sounds like. Some very cool older stuff on the first tape, various appearances on other TV shows. Quality varies from one to the next. Mostly MST3K: TM-related spots on the second tape. Also, there's high-quality newscast footage and home video footage of the premiere of The Movie in Minneapolis, with the Brains turning out in tuxedos and all.
-ChicagoCon VG
From 1992, featuring Q&A with Frank and two guys from Red Dwarf. Not the best audio or lighting, and it's naturally a home video so the visual quality isn't the best, but it's a low generation. Frank doesn't say much, but it is of interest for the extremely obsessed, and the RD guys are kinda neat.
-Mitchell Premiere in Madison VG
Behind-the-scenes home video footage when the Brains were preparing to go out on stage, and some Q&A with the audience. Some very funny stuff! It's about half an hour long, and again the audio and video quality isn't the best.
-M&TBs on Playstation Underground EX
PU, I gather, is some kind of magazine on CD-ROM. This was taped off the CD-ROM. There's a host segment and then the guys riff some stuff. Only about 6 minutes total. The type of thing I'd just throw on the end of a tape of an episode, if your little heart so desires. :)
-M&TBs on CBS Saturday Morning VG/EX
A little bit from May 1998 where the boys riffed on a few scenes from Godzilla movies and quizzed the news guy. Probably ten minutes long, tops. First gen, picture slightly grainy from less than perfect reception.

Short and grainy. M&TBs are there to celebrate Sci-Fi Buzz's 200th episode, and it was during MST's 8th Season, IIRC.
