Cesar Legba Band was formed in Helsinki, Finland in 1998. The sound of CLB consists of vocals which can be said to be somewhere between Rob Zombie and Tom Waits and music like a fresh crossing of AC/DC, Soundgarden, Motörhead and Marilyn Manson. The members of the band have come from many different musical directions - let the music speak for itself.
Former and leader Cesar Legba met Andij Stool and they started writing songs together. Drummer Calvin River was found from Andij's band Tohtori Kaukoputki. Several lead guitarists were tried and finally came in the best in Helsinki, Mikey Cod who played successfully with now-deceased Angel Lust. Bass player Stacey Goddard joined the band, and the line-up was ready only a week before the kick-start gig at Semifinal in Helsinki in April 1999 after which the band released a small number of promo tapes of a live recording. Cesar Legba Band threw a few gigs in Helsinki and in September 1999 they recorded the CD-EP Consvicious with Suho of Jimsonweed and Lohis as producers. The record was released on October 23rd, 1999. READ MORE!
