    • Leonardo is everything you'd want in a hero, and then some. He is a perfectionist with a strong moral sense and a maturity far beyond his his fifteen years. No one works, studies, or trains harder than Leonardo.

    Because of his serious, responcible nature, Leo has become the "big brother" of the group, Splinter's right-hand turtle, and the unoofical "leader" of the team. And while Leonardo's leadership role sometimes creates friction between he and the other Turtles, the truth is that Leo leads by example and not by giving orders, and has therefor earned the respect of his brothers. (Of course this doesn't stop the other Turtles from giving Leo a hard time now and then - but always in good fun.

    While all the Turtles love and respect their sensei, Leonardo is closest to Master Splinter. Together they share a love and fascination with the spiritual side of the martial arts. (p> Because of his sharp mind and steely resolve, Splinter decided that twin katana swords would suit Leo best. And they do.


    RENAISSANCE NAMESAKE: Leonardo da Vinci was a supreme example of a Renaisance genius who possessed one of the greaest minds of all time. Whenever there's a discussion of the true inspirational leader of all the Renaissance artists, it begins and ends with da Vinci. Likewise, the Leo behind the blue mask is a prefectionist who has risen to be the leader of the TMNT.


    WEAPON: Katana, the traditional long sword of the Japanese Samurai fighting class, are valued primarily for their abiltity to do damage at a distance. Twin Katana Swords are menacing and designed to intimidate. Leo has become a very proficient swords-turtle and because of his position as the boy's unoofical leader, the twin katanas suit him just right.


    STRENGTHS: A natural born leader, Leo is dedicated, disciplined and selfless. Clearly a strength is his high level of maturity, well beyond his 15 years. He has a sharp mind and responcible nature, which have allowed him to be leader of the Turtles and the "big brother" figure of the group.


    WEAKNESSES: On some occasions, Leo's leadership postion among the Turtles can cause friction, and although the may not always agree with him, his brither will always respect him. And because of the "big brother" role he's earned, Leonardo is often the voice of reason, which in turn often makes him the bad guy, shooting down some fun ideas in favor of serious business.
