Alex's War Years: The Reality.
The following was sent to me by a veteran who fought alongside Alex during the war. He is known to me as Dickie Dirt, and can be seen here on the left, operating a Heavy Machine Gun with the insane dictator.

The story painted by Mr Dirt shows Alex not as the conquering hero that he claims to be, leading his men to great victory, but instead as cowardly traitor, who was all too willing to sell out his friends and comrades to save his own skin.
"When Alex and I served in the war, he displayed strange ways of acting. He would
walk around, mutttering to himself, and then suddenly leap to his feet to anounce
that he had solved the world's transport problems! We would ask him, but he mearly
said 'wait and see'. I never knew what he was talking about. Other abnormalities
that pervaded his character included lengthy discussions of the role of scrabble
in government.
"It was during the siege of Constantinople when our unit was trapped in an alcove on the beach that Alex, really showed his madness. He began screaming that if the
enemy wouldn't let us go he would kill all of us (his unit). He ran out of the
cave and began weeping for his life. we had to give him covering fire. We shouted
for him to return, but he ran to the enemies lines and surrendered without a fight!
We later over ran the enemies postion and found Alex in their headquarters talking
to the officers drinking port and talking in their language. When we took the officers
prisoner, Alex claimed he had done it single-handedly when our officers asked, and
he ordered us not to answer any questions. It is only now that this truth can come
out. I have more war stories about Alex, but the past is a distant memory and I
need time to recall them."
I'll be bringing you more from Dickie Dirt on the truth behind Alex's war years shortly, and in the mean time, remember - cowards run in Alex's family, and Alex runs the fastest.
