Cards 026 - 030

- First Mission - While still in Department H, Wolverine had his first encounter with the Incredible Hulk. Although Wlverine knew that Hulk was hundreds of times stronger than himself, he was more than eager to take him on in combat. But to Wolvie's surprise, he found the Hulk already locked in battle with the mythical creature know as 'The Wendigo'.

- First Defeat - With repeated attacks, Wolverine realized he was no match for the powerful Hulk. The battle ended when Hulk dealt Wolverine a glancing slight, glancing blow that, despite its lack of force or power, rendered him unconscious. Years would pass before Wolverine would encounter the Hulk or Wendigo again.

- Weapon Alpha - Resenting the restrictions and regulations of the Canadian government, Wolverine resigned. His departure from Department H set in motion the plans for James Hudson to take on the leadership of Alpha Flight under the code name 'Weapon Alpha'. His first mission was to hunt down and recapture Wolverine. Note: James Hudson soon took on the name 'Vindicator' and later changed it to 'The Guardian'.

- In Search Of - The X-Men, a group of mutant superheroes, had been captured by the living island known as Krakoa. Charles Xavier, the group's leader and teacher, sought out other mutants using Cerebro, the mutant location device, in an effort to save his students. Professor Xavier discovered seven potential candidates, one of whom was Wolverine. Eager to leave Department H and become a free agent, Wolverine accepted.

- New X-Men - Wolverine joined the new members of the X-Men - Banshee, Sunfire, Colossus, Storm, Nightcrawler, Thunderbird and the former X-Men's leader, Cyclops. Cyclops was the only original X-Man to escape Krakoa and he was determine to rescue his veteran teammates with the help of these new X-Men.
