Wolverine "From Then 'Til Now" Set II
Cards 021 - 025

21 - Berserk - Throughout his life, Wolverine has dealt with the two completely different sides of his personality; the thinking mand, and the savage beast. At times, when sufficiently provoked, the beast takes over and Wolvie is launched into a berserk, nearly unstoppable rage. Not without reason, Wolvie has been termed a psychotic.

22 - Discipline - Struggling to master the beast within himself, Wolverine has adopted the way of the Japanese samurai as a mode of self-discipline. Possessing his own personal code of ethics, Wolvie will not hesitate to kill when he feels it is necessary. But he will not tolerate outright, gratuitous murder. Note: Chris Claremont regards Wolverine as Wolverine regards himself - as a 'failed samurai', a man who attempts to achieve the total self discipline of the ideal samurai but never, in his own mind, attains his goal.

23 - Wild Beast - The shock of the operation that gave Logan his unbreakable claws and skeleton drove him insane. Regressing to the state of a crazed animal, driven by only the need to survivem the wandered like a wild beast into the snowy wilderness of Canada's 'Wood Buffalo National Park'.

24 - Animalistic - While wandering in the thick of 'Wood Buffalo Stae Park', Logan first encountered James and Heather Hudson. Regressed to an animalistic state, Logan attacked the couple and would have probably killed them both if Heather had not retrieved her hunting rifle and shot the savage beast-man.

25 - Department H - Taking Logan in, the Hudsons helped him cope with his freakish new condition. Rediscovering his humanity, Logan's condition was brought to the attention of the Canadian intelligence by James Hudson. Hudson decided Canada needed its own 'super-team' and chose Logan to become its premier member and leader. Millions of dollars were spent in training Logan to become the superhero Weapon X - or as Logan himself preferred, Wolverine.
