Wolverine "From Then 'Til Now" Set II
Cards 016 - 020

16 - Mutant Powers - Wolverine possesses a healing factor of superhuman speed and efficiency. He has suffered injuries which would surely kill any normal man instantly, but in each case Wolvie has survived. He also has better night vision than any ordinary man and exceptionally acute hearing. Wolverine can identify and track a person by his scent, much as a bloodhound can.

17 - Ferocious - Originally, Wolverine's mutant powers were not those of healing, but those of an actual wolverine. According to Len Wein, 'What made him a mutant was the fact that he was very ferocious, very strong and very fast.' In fact, Wein said that if he had continued to write the X-Men, he might have made Wolverine as strong as Spider-Man.

18 - Adamantium - Adamantium, while invented by Dr. Myron MacLain, was used by Japanese scientist Lord Darkwind. He planned to bond molecules of adamantium to the skeleton of living human beings. Howver, Lord Darkwind's plans were stolen and he was never able to implement the process. Note: It was Wolverine's healing factor that made possible the operations that gave him his indestructible adamantium-laced skeleton.

19 - Claws - Wolverine's claws are now a permanent part of his body. They remain hidden in his forearms and shoot forth at his mental command, emerging from the back of his hand. Possessing three claws per hand, Wolvie can tear through anything; his claws are among the deadliest weapons in the world. Note: Originally, the claws were telescopic and fit into a casing of what were then adamantium gloves covered by cloth.

20 - Hunting - 'I said huntin', honey-bunch - nothin' about killin'. It takes no skill to kill. What takes skill is sneakin' up close enough to a skittish doe to touch her - that's huntin'.' Wolverine to Storm. Note: Wolverine has no last name and goes only by Logan. It has been pointed out that there is a Mount Logan in western Canada, but no true connection has been made.
