She came along at a time when Wolverine was a part of a section of the X-Men that were presumed dead by the world at large. She gave him a reason to keep holding on during a time when letting go was looking real attractive - he gave her a reason to look beyond herself again. Their relationship has survived his depression after the death of Mariko, her jealousy of any woman she even thinks he likes, his putting the fear of him into her potential boyfriends and her leaving the X-Men to attend school as part of Generation X. Will it continue to survive through her stint in X-Corps? I personally hope so.
