Amichai Benvenisti aka Mystique

Amichai Benvenisti is one of my seldom-used alter egos. I'm not surprised you never figured it out.
(Sabretooth: Death Hunt, 1)

Mystique's alter-ego of Amichai was an agent of the Mossad. Vic was at that time a CIA operative and was asssigned to go in with Amichai on a routine rendevous and reconnaissance job that ended badly. Both were captured and tortured by Hydra agents - most specifically, by one named Catalyst.


"You'll get your answers soon enough, Creed. I promise it'll be worth the wait!"
"It better be!"
"Believe me, if you're still carrying a grudge for what Hydra did to you years ago -- you won't be disappointed!"
"Hydra?!"
"Piqued your interest? Good."

Mystique managed to keep her real identity from Vic by only shifting while he was out cold after Catalyst's extended torturing sessions.

"I know you'll agree with me that we were cheated out of our vengence!"
"So life ain't fair. What's yer point?!"
"The point, you thick-headed beast, is that after all these years -- it's finally payback time!"
