Interested in West Point?
Each summer, the United States Military Academy
conducts the Invitational Academic Workshop (IAW) for academically gifted high school
juniors. The IAW is a weeklong program of academic workshops, military training, physical
fitness training and close interaction with cadets at West Point. Attendees leave
with a full appreciation of the Academy, its academic program and faculty, the campus
environment and cadet lifestyle. It is a first class orientation and a valuable experience
for any young person interested in military service. This year's event is from 7-13 June,
2003. Juniors interested in attending should enroll in the IAW database not later than
January 31st. Applications will be sent to candidates with instruction and milestones in
early February. Approximately 400 students will be selected from the national pool
in mid April.
If you have a student that is interested in military service and has high academic
qualifications and potential, please let them know of this opportunity to learn about West
Point in an event that is fun, instructive and challenging. To obtain an application,
interested students can do one of the following: Send an e mail to admissions@usma.edu
and request to be entered into the IAW candidate database or Call (845) 938-4041 and
request an IAW application. Please call or write:
