The 419 Diet

Betty -- who prefers her last name not be used -- lost over 100 pounds after being conned out of her $50,000 life savings by a 419 con artist. "It's terrifying to be broke at age 62," Betty remarked. "I can't pay for medical or dental care or even Christmas and birthday presents for my grandkids because some men in Nigeria conned me out of every penny I saved during my forty years of work as an assembler at an auto factory. All I have left is Social Security and, thank God, a small pension from the factory. All of my golden dreams of retirement are gone - and the money probably went to pay for the Rolex watches and cocaine used by the 419 con men. They even told me they were Christians and talked about Jesus a lot."
"The stress caused me to lose 100 pounds and I feel like I want to kill myself everyday that I wake up and look at myself in the mirror. In the 'before' picture I'm smiling because I think I'm going to get several millions of dollars for agreeing to stand as next of kin to a dead person I never met and who never existed. In the 'after' picture I'm smiling to keep from crying and because I was heavily medicated due to my 'suicidal ideations.' Sure, I was stupid and greedy and it cost me everything. I just hope other people learn from my mistake and don't go through the Hell I have been. The 419 Diet is the worse weight loss plan in the world because you lose more than weight: You lose your life savings and your dignity. I wish God would kill all of those horrible criminals who rob people of their money and their lives. My pastor says they will burn in Hell for all of eternity and I hope God takes them there sooner than later. If I'm bitter it's because I lost everything and now I will die in poverty."
