The Single Tear

The Single Tear

Standing out by the pool, I reflect on all that we once had.

A single tear begins to form as I ponder on that dreadful January night in which your love for me ended.

Thinking about how you said all those horrible things, my symbol of love, the tear, falls out over the brim of me eye.

And as it slowly slides down my cheek, it reminds me of the way our relationship was...like a stream on the top of a mountain, that starts off fresh and exhilerating, but slowly deteriorates into nothing but a serene translucent lake.

The tear, like the stream and the relationship, must end.

And as it falls off the cleft of my chin, I once again feel the great dispair of losing a loved one.

The tear falls, as if in slow motion, and I relive the greatest moments ever experienced ever in my lifetime.

Silently, the tear hits the water, and the hundreds of ripples that it creates are the hills we only pretended to overcome.

And as the ripples finally disappear, I know that you are gone from my life forever, never to return...just as is the final tear I cried.
