Chapter 5 continued

Josh turned to Donna. "I didn't see her," he said. Although he had seen
many girls that looked like Bree was supposed to, they turned out not being
her.

"Let's go up there!" she said pointing to the stairs. They led to a
second floor that looked over the first one.

They walked up the stairs, and pushed their way through mounds of
people, trying to find this Bree girl...and they weren't having too much
success.

"Shit!" Donna yelled, bending over. "My shoe broke; the strap snapped!" she said,
walking over to the railing at the edge of the floor. Josh followed behind
her.

She bent down and tried to re-fasten the strap while Josh looked over
the side of the railing, and down at the main dance floor. On the far side of
the club was the bar, and small tables were scattered around the perimeter.
Nearer to the center were large platforms for people to dance upon. Dancing
on one of those platforms was a girl; she looked like she was dancing as if
nothing else mattered. She appeared to be tall...about 5'9" or 5'10" she had
long brown hair, pulled up into a high pony tail.

She looked like the girl that Donna had described to him earlier...she
looked like Bree.

"Hey Donna!" Josh said loudly, trying to carry his voice over the loud
bass beat of the currently playing song. "I think I found your friend...is
that her?"

Donna stood up and looked over to where Josh was pointing. She sighed.
"Yeah, thats her..." she said as she retraced her steps back down the
stairs, and through the dance floor.

Josh stood there for a few seconds, then decided to follow her. He
figured if he helped her look for Bree, he should at least meet her.

He approached the platform and looked up at it. Donna and Bree were upon
it talking. After a few minutes, they got down, and headed for the door.
Josh followed them out of the club, and across the street.

"I was looking for you for like an hour!" he heard Donna yell.

"I'm sorry! I couldn't find you either! It's not like it's a small
club." Bree said back.

"Whatever... I'm just glad I found you. I've been wanting to leave since
11:00." She looked over and saw Josh standing there. "Oh, Bree. This is Josh
Chasez. Josh, this is Bree Johnson."

"Hey! What's up?" she said, her face lit up with an uncanny smile filled
with beauty.

"Hey...nothing really. I've just been helping Donna look for you. No big
deal," he said awkwardly. He looked her over once more. She was
beautiful...gorgeous in fact. There was something about her that he liked,
but he didn't even know her.

She turned to Donna. "What? Did you organize a search party to look for
me?"

"Well, If you didn't leave me all alone, I wouldn't have to!" she countered.

Josh took a deep breath. Feeling a little bit uncomfortable, he decided
to speak up. "I think I'd better go. It was nice meeting you!"

"No," Bree said. "Don't go! The night is young!" she said lightly
laughing. "Hang with us! You seem cool!"

"Yeah Josh! Come on!" Donna added.

"All right," he said starting to walk along with them down the street.
Although he didn't want to admit it, he was really happy that Bree wanted
him to go with them. He thought Donna was a really cool friend, but from what he saw of her, he thought of Bree at a different level. he had only spoken a few words to her,
but she already consumed his mind. He prayed that she was feeling the same way as he...and deep down, he could slightly sense she might be.
