~Spanish Eyes~

We were dancing in the summer rain
We were dancing through the night
She never said her real name,
So I called her Spanish Eyes
Spanish Eyes...

~~Spanish Eyes~~

Chris looked up from his drink and scanned the crowded room around him: numerous faces engaged in one simultaneous action wile the music poured from the speakers.

He sat alone, stripped of all desire to join the anonymous beings on the dance floor. Although Chris was not displeased with his decision to take this trip to San Juan, he felt as if his trip lacked something... a certain element that would make this experience whole.

The fast Latin beat of the previous song ended, and the soothing melody of a strumming guitar followed almost immediately after. As the sweet notes filled the club, the crowd seemed to part, and reveal a vision of mesmerizing beauty.

There she was, dancing to the music as if nothing else in the world mattered more than that moment. As she swayed to the opening ballad, Her long, ebony hair cascaded over her shoulders.

Chris watched her perfect rhythm. He could not take his eyes off of her; she consumed his mind. Her lips began to move along to the lyrics, and Chris eyes scrutinized each of their fine movements.

**I met a girl at a carnival,
In Rio De Janeiro
We danced all night on the Boulevard
In doorways, we did the tango

I miss her lips
And the was she sashayed her hips
As she shook her shoulders
I miss the smell of her hair
I don't care if it takes my whole life to find her**

Her position shifted, and her dance was directed in Chris's general area. He was hypnotized my her; her mahogany eyes matched perfectly with her tannish complexion, making her beauty all the more radiant.

Chris longed to be close to her...to kiss her. He had never felt this way about anyone in his entire life, let alone a woman he did not even know. He knew he had to amount enough courage to approach her, or else he would never be able to lay his eyes on her gorgeous being ever again.

He jumped to his feet, and attempted to make his way through the hazy crowd. Her shining face motivated him to keep searching for her. He gently relocated the remaining few that stood in the way of him and his love.

He had finally reached the spot where the mysterious woman had been dancing not more than 10 seconds ago. The woman's back was to him, but he still knew that it was her. He lightly tapped her on the shoulder, and waited for her reply.

She turned to meet him. Her eyes burned deep within his soul. She still stood, dancing, while Chris tries to memorize exactly what she looked like at that very moment. He wanted to remember her that way.

No words needed to be said. She wrapped her arms around Chris and began to dance against him. The two swayed and moved to the rhythm, without a care.

**We were dancing in the summer rain
We were dancing through the night
She never said her real name,
So I called her Spanish eyes
Spanish Eyes...**

Chris felt his body go limp as she rocked her hips against him. All was right for him. He looked down at her, into her beautiful eyes once again. By instinct, he tilted his head, and placed a small kiss on her supple lips.

When the kiss broke, she looked back at him, still dancing. A small smile crept across her face. She brought her arms from around Chris, and ran through the swarm of surrounding people.

**The sun came up
The Girl was gone
Her masquerade was over**

He followed behind, trying to figure out what her reason for leaving was. As he perused her, he watched her exit the club, and proceeded after. He ran toward the doors, Unphased by the many people he was knocking off balance. his only care was finding her.

Once he reached the street, he searched frantically. Although he did not know this woman, his intuition told him that she was the one for him. Chris knew he loved her before he knew her.

He studied each of the faces of the passing pedestrians. None of them matched her face at all.

**I searched the streets
Drunk with love
but no one seemed to know her**

Chris stopped and looked up at the stars. He was flourished with disappointment, and a feeling of loss. He wanted her, but mostly, he needed her. When he looked into her eyes he saw his life...his future.

**I miss the touch of her body so much
I long for the warmth inside her**

Chris walked sulkily through the streets of San Juan. He longed for her more than he had ever longed for anything. He was puzzled by this overwhelming feeling. He did not comprehend why he had such strong feelings for this enchantress, but he knew it was the greatest feeling he had ever endured.

**Somewhere in time she will come back to me
And I'll spend my life beside her

We were dancing in the summer rain
We were dancing through the night
She never said her real name,
So I called her Spanish eyes
Spanish Eyes...**

With all of his being, Chris knew that she was the one he had been destined to be with. He was fated to be with her. He knew, then and there, that she was his "Spanish Eyes"

**I miss her lips
And the was she sashayed her hips
As she shook her shoulders
I miss the smell of her hair
I don't care if it takes my whole life to find her**

He vowed then and there, that he would find her. That one day... he would find her...

**We were dancing in the summer rain
We were dancing through the night
She never said her real name,
So I called her Spanish eyes
Spanish Eyes...**
