Skyfire originated in a small Swedish town called Höör back in 1995. The four original bandmates were friends since school, and all shared similar tastes of music.

With influences ranging from Dark tranquility to Blind Guardian to Iron Maiden. One can only begin to imagine the sound that could be produced. The result is a mix of majestic symphonic metal overlayed by screeching black metal-like vocals.

The musicianship is all there and the musical compositions are beautifully done. I'll admit the vocals take some time to digest, but they really fit the band's sound remarkably well. Skyfire's debut CD, "Timeless Departure" is a powerful album! It will be interesting to see if they can follow it up with something better! Since there is still plenty of room for improvement, I know they can top their own debut!
