Dectective Sean Benard of the Vancover Police was pretty much shanghied onto the team. He had gone to Internal Affairs when he found three of his fellow officers were dealing drugs and was ambushed by the three in an alley. He managed to shoot and kill two of the three, but was out of ammunition when the third drew a bead on him. That was interrupted by the arrival of Logan. In order to avoid arrest on murder charges on the two officers he'd killed in self-defense, Benard accepted a transfer to The Flight. He was also the first resignation from the team - immediately after that first mission.
