a place of prayer

Why pray?
The Bible encourages prayer. GOD honors prayer. GOD answers prayer. James 5:16 tells us that the frayer of the righteous is powerful and effective (true Christians are righteous through CHRIST). 1 Thessalonians 5:17 tells us to pray without ceasing, or continually. Prayer changes things (especially those who pray!).
1 John 5:14 says, "this is the confidence we have in approaching GOD: that if we ask anything according to HIS will, HE hears us." So as we have needs and desires, if we pray according to GOD's will, HE will hear and answer our prayer.
It is not a magic formula. It is simply a child communicating with his FATHER.
It's like this: a man has two sons. One talks with him almost everyday, sees him every week and shows that he cares for his father often. They communicate.
The other son, however, has left the town, refuses to return any phone calls and is hostile the few times they do speak.
The first son has needs that the father helps with. His car breaks down and his father helps. He needs things for his house and his father helps. He is hungry and his father helps.
The second son has needs. The father would like to help, but the second son does not say anything to the father about his situation and the father is unable to help.
The father loves both sons, but the first son receives the benefits by communicating with the father. The second son neglects the relationship and receives no help.
The lesson is that GOD is like that. When we pray, according to HIS will, GOD hears and our prayers are answered.
So pray in faith and out of a relationship with GOD!

Testimonies of prayer:
  • Tim, a friend in Florida has this testimony of answered prayer:
God really blessed me with a house after a lot of prayer. Prayer got me over one hurdle after another to get the home. It seems like every time I got over one thing another popped up and my friends and I started praying again. God not only gave me peace, but also gave me the house.
  • Lói was in an airport getting ready to travel from Săo Paulo, Brasil to Miami, FL U.S.A. Her first flight was late, so she missed her airplane. It would cost $50 (US) to change the ticket to the next flight. She had no money that she could find. The bank was closed.
Lói sat and prayed. Meanwhile Pete (her future husband) was praying for her safe travel and that everything would go well in her trip.
GOD showed Lói a man in a suit and led her to tell him what had happened. She told him about her missed flight and the lack of money. She also told him she is a missionary (this is true). The man reached into his pocket and gave Lói exactly what she needed. Lói ran to the airplane and is now married to Pete. GOD answers prayer!!
