This
is my entry in the MSFM 'AT-AT' competition. The rules for the
contest were simple: You start with an MPC AT-AT kit, and
with no outside resources (other kit parts, Evergreen plastic,
etc.), you have to build something other than the AT-AT. This
meant though that you were free to use the speeders, gun turrets
and any sprue that was in the box when the wrap came off!
I devised a more cat-like walker that would be better suited to
very hilly or uneven terrain. Almost all of the parts in the
AT-AT kit were heavily modified.

The
CAT-AT has only three 'toes' on each foot and the leg is mounted
more towards the back than directly on top.
The two front legs are poseable and the two main segments of the
body are able to twist with the AT-AT's neck placed in the CAT-AT's
midsection.

The
main guns off each side of the command head are better suited to
providing fire to a larger target area.
The base color is Navy Aggressor Gray with some darker grays and
Flat Black for washes and weathering.
