Chapter 6

"Hey! B-Rok!" AJ yelled seeing his bandmate. Brian turned around to reveal his Ace Ventura costume.

"Wassup, Bone?" Brian replied, a blonde dressed as a fairy attached to his arm.

"Look who I found in the crowd." AJ smiled, pulling Alex beside him.

"Alex!" Brian exclaimed, then pulled Alex in for a hug.

"Alexa! I can't believe you're here!" Leighanne yelled and Alex gave her a hug.

"I can't believe you're here!" Alex laughed, emphasizing 'you're'.

"I missed something here." Brian said, scratching his head.

"How do you two know each other?" AJ asked, just as confused as Brian.

"We're cousins!" Leighanne and Alex exclaimed then giggled.

"Okay. I guess you learn something new everyday." Brian laughed.

"Well, we don't keep in touch enough. But now we're gonna have to start." Leighanne explained.

"So, Alex, what are you supposed to be?" Brian asked.

"Juliet." Alex replied. AJ and Brian looked at each other with a worried look on her face.

 "Brian, have you seen…Serenity." Nick, coming up behind Brian, but paused when he saw Alex there with him, AJ and Leighanne. "Oh, hi Alex." Nick hung his head low to hide the hurt in his eyes.

"Hey Nick." Alex replied, quietly.

"Nick, I think Serenity went back to the back to the hotel with Danny." Brian replied, remembering what Nick told him earlier.

"Oh, okay." Nick said, then looked at Alex's costume. The old English dress, her hairstyle reminded him of Juliet. Then he noticed that at the top of her cleavage was the locket that he had givin her on their three year anniversary, a month before they were forced to break up. Then Nick remembered what he was wearing. Serenity had talked him into dressing as Romeo. They had decided that they were going to be Shakespearean actors, and Serenity chose to be Olivia from 'Twelfth Night' and she had talked Nick into dressing as Romeo. But the thing was that Serenity's costume did not match Nick's and it didn't look as real or as good as Alex's. Just then another slow song came on.

"Alexa, before you go, I think that Romeo and Juliet should have a dance together." Leighanne said, unaware of what had happened three years ago.

Brian knew that Nick would really appreciate this, so he decided to help out. "Come on you two. Just like old times. Forget about everything else and have fun." Brian smiled and pushed the two together.

"One dance won't hurt nobody." AJ pushed. Both Alex and Nick sighed reluctantly.

Nick took Alex's hand and escorted her out to the dance floor. The 2 danced closely, Alex had her head tucked under Nick's chin, and her arms wrapped around his shoulders. Nick wrapped his arms tightly around Alex's waist, holding her extremely close. The 2 of them swayed perfectly in time with one another and the music. If you had casually walked by, you would have sworn they were a couple. The song came to an end all too soon for both Alex and Nick. Both stood there staring at each other, afraid of what to say.
