We have just "uploaded" a new format for Diversity's webpage. There are still some intra site links to be adjusted which we hope to get cleared up soon.....and our main book catalogue needs updating with new editions received recently...........Please do not hesitate to ask for the latest editions. We will not knowingly sell you a book if there is a more recent edition available.

The new Third edition of The Charlton Standard Catalogue of Chintz is expected to be released this month. We will be listing them on ebay the minute they arrive.

Our Antique Show season is also starting this month. On July 16, 17 and 18 we will be set up at the First Annual Extravaganza at Exhibition Park in Halifax, Nova Scotia. Then the following weekend it will be at the Highland Festival of Crafts and Antiques at Antigonish, Nova Scotia.

The new Old Books Value Guide by Huxford has arrived....number 11.  Also the new Warman's Antiques Price Guide...the 33rd edition.

The bad news is that last week I reordered Godden's Encyclopedia of British Pottery and Porcelain Marks and found that it has increased in price from C$90 to C$112........and the Encyclopedia of British Porcelain Manufacturers has gone from C$110 to C$140.  We do have both titles in stock.
C$112 is currently about US$76    and C$140 is about US$95.

April 22, 1999

Welcome to Dave's page!   I just read this morning in the Web Site Journal how extremely important it is to keep one's website up to date.   I have been having a lot of trouble doing just that......................therefore, I thought I would try an informal approach to keeping up to date..................which reminds me......................well, I won't go in to the whole story.  At least Louis will remember about  94 year old Lord Denning's advice to the young law student ......"you must keep up to date".

The current hotseller is the just released The Charlton Standard Catalogue of Royal Doulton Bunnykins by Jean Dale and Louise Irvine.........two important names in recent Royal Doulton literature.   Introduced in 1934 the Bunnykins line has "struck a chord with collectors".  The book gives current market prices for all nursery ware items and figurines in Canadian, US and Australian dollars and in British sterling.  The listings are complete with nodel number, size, colour, designer, dates of issue and discontinuations, varieties and series.

A number of other "new" books or editions have arrived recently:

a new  5th edition of The Charlton Standard Catalogue of Royal Doulton Beswick
                Storybook Figurines

                Cigarette Card Values 1999 (Murray's)

Evolution of the Pedal Car,  Volume 5

Antique Secrets, How the Pickers Find Treasure in Another Man's Trash

Roseville by the Numbers  1999 edition

Antique Fly Reels, A History & Value Guide, DB Homel

Antique Phonographs, Gadgets, Gizmos & Gimmicks by Timothy C Fabrizio and
                George F Paul

Several years ago when I was even more of a novice at antiques than I am now, I asked a well known local "picker", "What is the secret to this business ?".   He very quickly and spontaneously replied:
"Always remember that you are dealing in knowledge "
