His brothers Malcolm McPhail, mess 36, Donald and Angus, mess 23, and his sister Ann, mess 5 are on board. His nearest relations  in  Uist  are  Kenneth MacAskill, Malaglet Lochmaddy, Ê(his Uncle), and Mrs. Murdo Morrison, Middlequarter, Lochmaddy, (his Aunt). Donald's mother a MacAskill, sister of John, HIES No 320. Good Family.

Her nearest relations in Uist, Donald Cameron, Claddich Kyles, Lochmaddy, her father.  Died 14 Feb 1853, Donald MacDonald infant from North Uist.His mother died in hospital, Murdo MacDonald his father & 3 other children on board. Donald Cameron, Claddich Kyles, Lochmaddy, Grandfather of the deceased infant, is the nearest relation in Uist. Family arrived in S.A. on "Hercules". Murdoch married Catherine MacSwan, HIES No 376, on 28-5-1853 in Adelaide.
