"Duo where are you, I know you are here somewhere."
Great she found the house and she's looking for me, can anything else go wrong. "I'm over here Relena, come in and talk to me. So what's the problem?"
"It's about Heero."
"I should have known you would be asking about him as usual. Well what is it?"
"Duo I need to talk to him desperately, really I need him to help me with something."
"You know if I try to tell him to do something he does the complete opposite, so why are talking to me?"
"Because you are the only one I can find."
"If I were you I would go try to find Quatre. Heero, Trowa and Wuifei are all with him in the desert getting the Gundams fixed."
"So why aren't you with them?"
"Because I have all the resources I need right here in the junkyard to fix my machine."
A voice is heard calling for Duo.
"Duo?" "Hey Duo!"
"Hilde, what is this some kind of reunion or something?"
"Hey I've been trying to find you everywhere. What is Relena doing here?"
"I'm looking for Heero."
"I should have guessed that."
"Well, I guess I will try to go find Quatre and talk to him, Thanks Duo." "No problem!"
Relena walks off. And Hilde begins to laugh.
"Duo Maxwell, I don't believe you told that girl a complete lie."
"I would never get rid of her is she knew that Heero and the others were here." Calls to Heero. "Hey Man I just saved your neck."
Duo hears no answer from the room where the other pilots are staying. He goes in to find Trowa and Quatre watching something out the window. When he goes over to take a look he sees Heero running after Relena. Then he sees Heero draw a gun on her. None of the pilots are surprised since they've only seen this move about a hundred times.
"Man when is he going to give up and just kill her."
Surprised, Quatre looks at Duo and reminds him that in fact Relena had saved Heero's life more than once and he thinks that is why he can't kill her. When Duo looks up again Heero has gotten into Wing Zero and taken off as he always does. The other pilots just look at each other and all decide to follow him. Duo sits down in DeathscytheHell again and feels the machine he loves. Now if he were Heero, where would he go? All the pilots meet up with Noin where Heero just destroyed the rest of the Mobil Dolls plant. Duo just looks at Heero as he walks in to the shuttle with the other pilots. Then he notices blood all over Heero's hands and the gun still in his fingers.
"Heero, What have you done now?"
Heero just stares blankly into the eyes of Duo and shakes his head and walks off.
"Hey, Heero I'm talking to you." "Well, how about that, he completely ignores the nice guy, I'm trying to help the guy out and what does he do, just walks off and completely ignores me."
Trowa looks at Duo and laughs.
"What's so funny?" asks Duo
"I think I know why Heero's hands are covered in blood."
"Why is that may I ask?"
"Because he shot himself."
"What you must be crazy!"
Duo runs after Heero and watches in disbelief as Heero pulls something out of his arm.
"I cannot believe you shot yourself."
"I didn't."
"Yeah, Okay I really believe you now."
"Really, Relena shot me."
"What are you insane, Relena wouldn't even talk to you in a bad way, so I know she wouldn't shoot you."
"She told me that she was tired of me always trying to kill her so she gave me a momento to live by. She said the next time I tried to kill her she would have to finish the job that she started."
"So she finally decided she had enough huh. Well I never would expect her to do something like that."
The pilots get together and try to figure out where the next battle will be and how to get there without being noticed. The first person that comes to mind as being the one that can slip by anyone is Duo.
"What, why are you looking at me like that."
"Duo we need you to go in first." Says Noin
"I must be an idiot. Here I am the God of Death once more."
"So you will do it."
"Why not, it's not like I haven't done anything like this before."
"Alright we will meet back here in a week."
Duo walks off by himself when he notices a girl following him. He tries to ignore her, but every turn he makes she just follows him. He goes to an old abandoned church and sneaks upstairs before she walks in. A few seconds later the girl walks into the church. Without making a sound Duo walks up behind her and grabs her. When she turns around he realizes its Hilde.
"Hilde what are you doing here?"
"I need to talk to you Duo."
"Well, I was coming home, could you not have waited a little while?"
"Duo I need to show you something."
Hilde takes off her coat and Duo sees a large blood stain on her shirt.
"Hilde are you okay, let me see you."
"It is finished."
"What are you talking about let me see if I can help you."
"No one can help me. Not even the God of Death."
Hilde takes a gun out of her pants and before Duo can grab it she kills herself.
"Why Hilde? Why did you kill yourself I don't understand. Why?"
Duo looks up to see Heero standing over them with a blanket. He covers Hilde with it. Duo just stares at Hilde's lifeless body and screams.
"Why the hell does everyone around me always die!"
Heero places his hand on Duo's back.
"Duo she killed Relena."
"What, that's not true she would never hurt Relena."
"She didn't have a choice it was either Relena or her."
"What in the hell are you talking about. You aren't making a bit of sense."
"Just listen, Dorothy tracked her down and gave her that choice. She chose to kill Relena and herself."
"How do you know all of this."
"Because Noin got a transmission a minute ago from Dorothy, she told us that Hilde was coming for you next."
"So, that bitch thinks she can do this to me does she. Well, Paybacks a bitch especially when it's the God of Death issuing it."
Duo begins to laugh and runs off. Heero stands there wondering about what Duo will do next. Wuifei comes up and starts talking to Heero. Just then Hilde sits straight up and takes the blanket off her body.
"Do you think he fell for it guys?"
"I think Heero made it damn believable that Dorothy made you kill Relena, When in fact Heero killed her." Wuifei says.
"I don't know. I just hope our plan to dispose of the God of Death really works."
Duo opens his eyes to find himself in a white room surrounded by people. He realizes then that it was all a dream. He sees Heero over in the corner asleep with Quatre on the couch. Trowa is sitting by the bed smiling asking if he was okay. Duo sighs a breath of relief. Trowa asks him how he felt like when he pressed the self-destruct button, and what it felt like to be dead five times. Duo didn't remember a thing and the doctor's thought that maybe that was for the best. Duo also sees Hilde and grabs for her and checks her over looking to see if there is any blood anywhere on her. He then falls back asleep. After an hour or so he wakes back up to find Noin talking to the other pilots. Of course Wuifei is out on one of his own missions, not even bothering to see if Duo was okay. The doctor walks in and tells Duo he will be dismissed as soon as they got some blood work back. Then Duo started remembering the dreams he had. He asked Heero when was the last time he saw Relena. Heero thought about it for a minute then said:
"Probably when we were staying at your place, the last person to actually see her is Noin."
Noin says to Duo, " Why are you worried about her, she's fine, she's in the Peacemillion where she will be safe."
"I got to know guys, I had a creepy dream and I have to know."
"Well she's fine and stalking Heero as usual." Noin says with a smirk.
"Very funny, Noin, so how are you guys, and how long have I been in here?"
The doctor tells Duo that he has been in the hospital for a week. He asks him if he remembers anything again. When Duo tries to remember he can only see a smoke cloud and Heero standing above him asking if he was okay.
"That's all I remember, what happened."
Heero explains that Treize was coming after the DeathScythe and that Duo chose to blow it up and risk his life than give it to Trieze. He then tells him that a transmission had come from Dorothy that she had Hilde, but in fact Hilde had stolen one of Miliardo's mobile suits and gotten away.
"Just do me favor guys?"
"What's that?" Trowa asks.
"Get me the hell out of here now."
Heero and Trowa get a hold of Duo and walk him out without the doctors knowing. They got in a shuttle and went to the Peacemillion ship and waited for their new mission. Duo was messing around with his gundam and Hilde walked up.
"So Duo, when are you coming home like you promised?"
"Not till I'm done here. My mission is not complete."
"You and your damn mission, do you even think about anything but that? You are beginning to be just like Heero."
"Hilde I will never be like Heero, remember I'm the happy one, not the one who always wants to kill Relena."
"Okay true, but you come home alive please, for me."
"Don't go worrying about me I'll be just fine."
"Now go home!"
"Well I can't really do that Duo Noin has told me that were getting close to a battle field, and if I try to leave now I will just be shot down."
"As soon as this mission is over with you are going home, got it, good."
The battle is over with quickly as usual and Hilde goes home and takes Relena with her. Just then a transmission comes in saying that Hilde and Relena's shuttle had been shot down. It is Dorothy who is talking. Duo wakes up screaming and sees he's in a pitch-black room, his room in the colonies. He gets up and walks into the kitchen to find Hilde making something.
"So about time you got up sleepyhead!"
"I was having the worst nightmares."
"Really, I haven't noticed since the last five minutes all you have been doing is screaming."
"What does he want?"
"They need you to help sneak into a battle."
"What, Oh God here it goes again."
"Can anything else go wrong?"
"Well, Uh Duo, I've been meaning to tell you something?"
"Okay shoot."
"Um, I'm late."
"Great, just wonderful, I had to say it and look where it got me. Geeze being the God of Death sure has its disadvantages.
