December 21
Yule, also referred to a Winter Solstice, is the shortest day of the year. It is a time when the Goddess
gives birth to the God. This is also when the sun is reborn, bringing the promise of spring and again
the abundance of food. It is a promise of that which dies will also be reborn. Traditional foods and
drinks would be - nuts, apples, pears, pork, wassail and cider.

Ostara
March 21
Ostara, or Spring Equinox, is the first day of spring. It marks the awakening of the Earth form it's
winter slumber, and is a celebration of fertility and life. The hours of the day and night are both
equal, signifying the emergence of the Goddess from her sleep, with the God maturing. This
is the time for new beginnings, and starting to act on new goals. Traditional foods - Eggs, honey cakes,
dishes prepared with flowers, sprouts, and first fruits of the season.

MidSummer
June 21
Midsummer, the Summer Solstice, is a most powerful time for all magick, this is when the Earth's power
has reached a pinnacle. Everything that has begun is starting to reach fruition. This is the longest
day of the year, a time to celebrate the Sun. Food and Drink - Fresh fruits, vegetables, pumpernickle bread,
ale and mead.

Mabon
September 21
Mabon, Autumn Equinox, is the end of harvest time. The days and nights are equal again, and the God is getting
ready to go back into slumber of Winter, waiting to be reborn. This is a time to give thanks, to look inside youself for answers.
